Not sure if true but they aren't changing the endings but only add additional info after them in some way.
a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions
This means paid DLC
FOR FUCKS SAKE HARBINGER HAD BETTER HAVE SOME FUCKING LINES they made this badass antagonist the size of a fucking city with the most badass voice ever and didnt even let him speak in the final game. wtf.
Haha oh wow, I've never really heard of a game that had to change the ending because it was THAT terrible.
And that proves? I'll tell you, it proves that most other companies just don't give a shit and don't bother changing the ending even if it's bad, it's a good thing they're doing this, the only way they can screw it up is if they make you pay for these "better endings".
This is just sad and pitiful.
Bioware is such an incredible mess.
Oh boy I can't wait for my yellow ending It's what I always wanted
I don't get the whole Mass Relay problem. Sure, it was fucking stupid to have that happen, but didn't human ships have the same sort of technology built into them? I think I remember that from the first game. Maybe I'm wrong, but whatever.
It's funny how they're acting as if the current ending isn't a steaming pile of crap and that it simply doesn't fit everyone's tastes, to me it sounds like an obvious foundation to charge for the new ending they are making....
The idea of being fooled into a good ending by bioware is lulz. I mean Star Wars Old Republic 2 mostly ended in short movies with each of them just leaving or the main character staying on the planet if she/he is dark side.
Fallout 3? On topic, I can't believe they caved in. I'm glad that they did, but I just can't believe it. They'll win back a lot of fans from this.
fallout 3's ending was fine people just didnt like you couldnt keep playing.

It didn't create any more questions about the events of the game/fates of the characters and had almost perfect closure. The end of Mass Effect 3 does exactly the opposite. I don't care if it's happy or not, what I (and lots of other people) want is closure.

Light from earth to another system takes a while to travel, and if a ship travels at what's just about over light-speed, you can't get there instantaneously. The Mass Relays are a solution to this, which enable extremely fast jumps over a huge distance due to something like quantum entanglement, I'm not exactly sure of the specifics behind them. I do know that they're quantum locked, which is why they go supernova when they explode, though.
I wonder how many expected a sugar coated happy ending and wanted it perfectly happy endings are many times super shitty and unfitting
There hasn't been a game with even a somewhat happy ending in forever. They're all SUPER GRIMDARK EDGY with MEGA SUPER TWISTS or just plain crappy endings. It would be unexpected for a perfectly fine ending to happen.
Bioware is fucked if they charge for it. This was a pretty big shitstorm but if it comes out to be 10$ then the community will go all out.
Bioware is fucked if they charge for it. This was a pretty big shitstorm but if it comes out to be 10$ then the community will go all out.
EA is involved, of course its going to cost $10.
Well, that guy is just the PR guy, it's best that we wait for a proper response from the actual devs.
True, could have been a lot worse if Mac Walter or Jesse Hudson said this... unless they would lie again then i would fear for the incoming shitsto... shithurricane.
I felt the endings were perfectly fine. This cycle has occurred countless times. It is only with Shepard's actions that they've even gotten this close to defeating the Reapers. Most of you are looking at it as if every decision should carry some massive consequences. Many of the decisions simply shape Shepard as a person. If you're Renegade you're probably morel likely to fall into the Reapers bidding than a Paragon who is attempting to unite the galaxy to defeat them. The choices presented were fine, this is the only time such choices have been presented. It's the lack of being shown the aftermath that is disappointing. Besides who says we'll even play Shepard in the DLC?
Haha oh wow, I've never really heard of a game that had to change the ending because it was THAT terrible.
Fallout 3.
Whoever wrote this article is an idiot. How is changing a shit ending compromising their artistic integrity?
I find it even stranger that they can even think of touting "artistic integrity" on that ending, when they actually threw out the original writer of Mass Effect along with the ending he had already laid out and was building up to all along between 2 and 3.
I'm not sure if I've gained respect for them for listening to their fans, and admitted what seems to be a mistake, or if I've lost respect for them for caving and changing their "art" if you could call it that.
I'm not sure if I've gained respect for them for listening to their fans, and admitted what seems to be a mistake, or if I've lost respect for them for caving and changing their "art" if you could call it that.
Art is not immune to criticism, and it's pretentious to think that it is. And making something intentionally nonsensical is a particularly pretentious form of art.
Fallout 3? On topic, I can't believe they caved in. I'm glad that they did, but I just can't believe it. They'll win back a lot of fans from this.
Except Broken Steel didn't change the ending, it added a follow up to it. And Broken Steel was the best DLC ever.

I don't get the obsession with trying to force Bioware to change the ending. It was how they decided to end the story, and you may be justifiably upset, but starting petitions and all that nonsense to try and change what Bioware themselves envisioned is ridiculous.
