I definitely remember hearing that... Does anybody have a source to what the ending was supposed to be?
If I can recall, the leaked endings were very similar to the ones we got. In fact, the leaked script is nearly identical to the final release.

I dwell all four. So, no.
Looking forward to the outcry after the dlc changes nothing and they promise to fix the dlc in dlc
Haha oh wow, I've never really heard of a game that had to change the ending because it was THAT terrible.
Atari's E.T. was so horrible that the unsold stock was shipped out into the desert, and buried in a huge pit. Later, in an effort to keep souvenier hunters from digging the games up, a thick slab of concrete was poured, sealing it like a tomb.
Think about that. . .a game so fuckawfully bad that every single copy was loaded into several trucks, driven miles away, buried in the desert. . .and as if THAT wasn't enough, they encased it in fucking concrete to ensure nobody could ever play them.
That's a bad game.
For all the people saying its immune to criticism as its art, I give you the following.
Just imagine this, Star Wars VI return of the jedi, the last 10 minutes of the film consist of this.
The Millennium falcon pancakes into a wall inside the Deathstar, the entire rebel fleet is obliterated,
all of the characters you cared about are vaporised in front of your eyes, and you have a 5 minute montage of the Deathstar floating around blowing planets up with the emperor cackling in the background.
Wouldn’t you just feel the slightest bit insulted if they turn round at the last minute and piss all over one of your favourite films at the last minute shouting “LOL U MAD?”
I was about to say on how your argument wasn't really presented well but then I realized it was episode 6 and that the deathstar was rebuilt after Episode 4

I'm pretty sure that's not true. That "buried in the desert" thing is said about a lot of games when people want to emphasize how bad they were.

Big Rigs wasn't buried in a desert. E.T. was. There were also more copies of E.T. than there were consoles to play it on.
Broken Steel didn't CHANGE the ending.
Normally you would [sp]die[/sp].
Broken Steel [sp]revealed you only were knocked out, thus still alive[/sp].
See? No changes, only adding more on top of it.
Check this theory out

True, He awoken from the blast, the two members you had in your team, get you out of it, you get sidetracked by a new mission either taking back Omega, with Aria on your team, then you go back the citadel and do the real ending, and Harbringer as a boss, and make it a classic ME1 final boss like Saren. Instead of having Illusive Man choice fight, Anderson comes in and takes him down.
