Bet AMC is really glad they called Saul. Sunday night’s launch of Better Call Saul was the highest-rated series debut in cable history. The highly anticipated Breaking Bad 6.9 million viewers and a record-setting 3.4 adults 18-49 rating.
there is no way this will turn bad after a few seasons. Just pure gold.
Jesus Christ NETFLIX PLEASE hurry up!
I just have to watch this.
Cool. I really enjoyed the first episode. It will be interesting how much of that was from the walking dead audience. We shall see how the ratings are on tonight episode and hopefully they stay high.
Deserved, Odenkirk is a god amongst men.
I felt bad for The Walking Dead. That episode was actually pretty good as far as The Walking Dead goes, but it was completely and utterly overshadowed by Better Call Saul, which was fucking fantastic.
Still didn't beat Breaking Bad's premiere episode, which had me hooked from the get go, but it definitely holds its own against Breaking Bad.
Odenkirk's gonna be able to take trips to Belize anytime he wants with this instant success.
This is a cool show. if anyone is wondering there is new epsiode on monday.
Very deserved, so good so far.
And it's already on Netflix
It was an incredible premiere. Cant wait for more.

You realize that doesn't say much.

Because it can never be as good as BB, and as we know where he ends up they aren't even trying so they can just tell a good story. Episode was great.
It was fucking amazing. Vince, you did it again, you magnificent bastard.
Also, there's a *new* episode airing tonight, GET HYPE.
And it's already on Netflix
I'm not seeing it. I assume U.K. only?
didn't watch the premiere yesterday night but i watched the episode today with a friend of mine. such a great start, it definitively holds to breaking bad standards: i was examining every single shot, to find every single little detail that gilligan is known for putting in his sequences and oh boy i wasn't disappointed. vince is a master of cinematography.

look at this, so goooood
I didn't like the pilot episode all that much, but I see what they were doing with it and still approve. Good cliffhanger lead into the next episode.
That said, I can't wait for the next episode, it's gonna be a good series.

I thought about that, but honestly who didn't know that Walt was going to die from the start of episode 1? It's as blatantly obvious how Breaking Bad was going to end as it is how obvious Better Call Saul is going to end.
Breaking Bad was always more about the journey than it was the destination, and I'd say the same is true with Better Call Saul.

I wouldn't have worded it like I did if I didn't. I like The Walking Dead, though. It's a better show than a lot of people give it credit. It's plagued by terrible writers, but when it's good, it's fucking good. The season five premiere was fucking phenomenal.
I'm watching it now and already 5 minutes in it's got my curiosity.
Looks like something that could become a serious catcher of a series.

Right? A lot of the scenes were straight up fucking beautiful.

This scene in particular blew me away.

Yep UK only. Use a VPN or something
A lot of scenes in the pilot involved really smooth and reflective surfaces

The intro had me hooked, the actual story kept me interested.
Maybe I'm alone here, but I didn't think it was anything too amazing. It was great, but overall I much preferred Breaking Bad's pilot. I'm hoping this warms up to match its predecessor.
Wow, I just finished watching it because I had no idea it came on last night. That was way better than I was expecting it to be.

I really, really liked the shot in the diner when he was talking to the two potential clients

I dont feel bad for Walking Dead at all. I've been watching this show since the beginning and witnessed a pretty obvious decline in quality... If you take a closer look at the latest episode you can see a lot of filler shots that are re-used way too many times (the skeleton on the ground, the zombie in the car, the prison tower, etc). To me this is a pretty clear sign of the overall quality and should not be ignored when you consider the overall budget of the show (and the fact that this is a season premiere AND the first episode from the new producer). You'll never see stuff like that in a show produced by Vince Gilligan so that's why I'm happy if it end up more popular than Walking Dead. Of course this is my personal opinion and if you still enjoy Walking Dead then it's all the better for you :v:
WELL deserved. I think it definetely rivals Breaking Bad in which has the best pilot episode.
Then again, it might be because we know Saul and we kinda know what to expect from him. We didn't have that benefit with Breaking Bad.
Who [sp] was the guy at the end again?[/sp]
Who [sp] was the guy at the end again?[/sp]
[sp]Tuco Salamanca[/sp]
[editline]10th February 2015[/editline]
[sp] Tuco. He was the main villain in the first season of Breaking Bad and a few episodes of the second season. [/sp]
DAMN YOU
How can people even mention WD next to Better Call Saul? One is some poorly written drama flick and the other a fucking masterpiece.
