Why don't you talk about the church's stance on homosexuals in a thread about the church's stance on homosexuals instead of wrecking this thread with shit that has nothing to do with the topic - the pope listing good things everyone ought to do?
Why must everyone bring up a flaw when they do something decent and good for a change? Would you like it if everyone brought up something terrible about you every time you donated to charity?
"He donated $100 to cancer! But it doesn't matter because he's a total dick to some people".
Well, to be fair. The last part of his post actually talked about a point he disagreed with, so you're somewhat forcing it off topic again.

Hitler was nice to dogs.

I must have misread that, my mistake.
I like this pope.
Man, this pope is the tits.
I believe the pope could stand to be a more decent person but that's just my opinion.
9. Don't proselytize; respect others' beliefs. "We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: 'I am talking with you in order to persuade you,' No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing," the pope said.
Well, really didn't expect that one. Good on him for saying all of these though.
I was actually responding to a different post that wasn't necessarily about the 10 points. Contrasting the church's anti-gay stance with Francis' list here is worth considering.
I don't actually disagree with most of his points (except for number 9, which I vehemently disagree with and don't think anyone on earth is actually capable of doing).
9 is easy
But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism
don't proselytize your religion/lack of one
though of course it's impossible to do it with everything as i am trying to persuade you now, but i'm pretty sure he's talking about people's religious views not everything in general no need to get so vehement over it

I find #9 to be the most admirable, and the most confusing of all his points.
It's admirable because we really shouldn't prosteltyze so much, but it's confusing because language, and society itself exists within a frame work that really only works when we can talk to each other and persuade each other. We can't really have conversations and not persuade people, we can't really go into many conversations without our point of view being personally important, a goal as it were.
either way it's admirable but I feel like we have to persuade each other just for people to try and see other view points.
I am quite baffled! Family, and that's it. No "Friday is for god", but family. This is interesting to hear from the pope.
The religious aspect is implicit. It's Sunday he specified after all, he didn't suggest Saturday. He reinforced Sunday as the special day.
I wonder how many kids he had to molest to become pope?

Every time I get mad about something, I try to remember this poem to calm down a bit.

This is not only an old, overused "joke", he's been trying to purge the Catholic church of such priests.

Who says he hasn't molested kids know one knows for sure.
