How many people do you think here genuinely supported Clinton? All of us?
I think out of hundreds of people on SH, if not thousands, I think I only saw 2 people actually supporting clinton full heartily. and even then it didn't last long. I think I speak for most people here when I say I was a bit disgusted that I had to support Clinton, but I have no other recourse thanks to this damn election
As much as I dread Trump having won, I sure am glad as hell Clinton lost. She was not worthy of being the first woman President. That honor belongs to someone far better than the pompous and entitled likes of her.
At least fucking Trump earned his victory. Nobody wanted that guy to be president. Meanwhile Clinton has to steal money from downticket candidates and not only sink the chances of a blue Congress but still end up losing the election.
It's official: I'm fucking done with the DNC and with Clinton. I'm at the point where I outright regret my vote. Trump is a disaster waiting to happen but that doesn't justify using my democratic voice to support these hacks. After this entire response to their crushing loss and particularly what TheJoey linked in another thread I can't support this anymore. I'm sorry to srobins and some other people for being so stubborn on this point. You were all right, and I was wrong. I wish I could say I was paid to shill as hard as I did but that's not even true. I just invested way too much energy in defending a monstrous abomination of American politics.
All the private events instead of open rallys, all the shady business in the primary, bashing bernie's age and health then she has that maybe-faint thing (and emails). Trump's shitty comments about womanizing, his terrible policies and his party's terrible policies, failure in the debates and general incompetence. Im glad you understand the politics are shit viewpoint. When the public hates both candidates so much people get super cynical, stop caring and their priorities change. "sure, maybe we lose gay rights, correct climate policy, and healthcare but we can't let corruption win" "sure, hillary is just as corrupt herself as she corrupted the DNC and should probably be in prison, but on a personal level i can't allow LGBT rights and healthcare to go away".

The majority of people who were vocal in their political discussions were part of the genuine, die-hard, "YAS QUEEN! SLAY QUEEN!" demographic.
It's worth mentioning that the only way we found this story out is because there are people in the DNC who saw this as a mistake. Not all hope is lost.
At least fucking Trump earned his victory. Nobody wanted that guy to be president. I didn't vote for this reason. I knew as soon as the DNC leaks came out, the Hillary Campaign was going to fail.
I didn't vote for this reason. I knew as soon as the DNC leaks came out, the Hillary Campaign was going to fail.
Something something, part of the problem.
Something something, part of the problem.
Looking back, I shouldn't have voted Clinton, but I'm not sure if I could reasonably vote for any of the candidates.
I don't think the impending issue of Climate Change (which Trump does not believe in), the loss of LGBT rights, or the harassment of muslims, women, blacks, etc is any laughing matter.
The most frustrating part is that so many people within the DNC went on and on and on about how much was at stake this election. They campaigned on fear. They insisted that it was simply too dangerous to let an outsider like Sanders run during the primaries. Every time we would bring up how Sanders beats out Trump in match-ups we would get shouted down. Every time we would bring up Clinton's scandals or the neglect of the rust belt we'd get told to fuck off. You can go look at 538's Florida polling aggregate and see how Clinton tanks the week after she appointed Debbie a position in her campaign. Clinton made terrible move after terrible move despite the evidence being right in front of her. If they actually cared about the issues they were campaigning on why would they fucking let her do all of this shit? The issues they said were at stake simply didn't matter to the elites. They didn't give a shit that many LGBT people are probably going to end up with less rights. They didn't give a shit about dealing with climate change or making sure people got a living wage. They didn't give a shit about people crushed under student debt. The only thing they cared about was lining their pockets and advancing their careers. Now we've got the perfect opportunity to take their party from them.

Even if Trump is the one to pull the trigger and double down on ignoring Climate Change, she had a window of opportunity to prevent this fate and her hubris fucked future generations over. As you said, Bernie ran on actual issues and appealed to Blue Collar Workers. When Clinton wasn't piggy backing off of borrowed ideas from Bernie or cozying up to hesitant Republicans and Party Insiders, she was busy dividing people. Vote for Trump? Deplorable! Vote for Bernie? Misogynistic Bernie Bro! Vote for Third Party? A vote for Third Party is a vote for Trump! Instead of focusing on issues, she just kept pushing the "Not Trump" angle without giving people anything to get fired up about, and expected us to Fall In Line as complacent sheep. We needed a woman in the White House dammit!
Looking back, I shouldn't have voted Clinton, but I'm not sure if I could reasonably vote for any of the candidates.
Oh believe me, I didn't want to vote Clinton either, but my state is almost completely Red so if I voted third party I would be one of like three people.
It's worth mentioning that the only way we found this story out is because there are people in the DNC who saw this as a mistake.
Looking back, I shouldn't have voted Clinton, but I'm not sure if I could reasonably vote for any of the candidates.
I don't regret my vote for her because her policies and the Democratic platform itself support my views far more adequately than Trump and the GOP's but she really was a shit candidate and the DNC deserves all the blame they get.

The fact that the Democrats and Clinton are representative of the left wing in this country is pretty fucked. Nobody on the left is being properly represented in this country, but Bernie was at least a start. Now we have to finish what he started and take this opportunity that we might never have again to build on the collapsing debris of the DNC.

You can sign up for their mailing list, and I believe some of the emails you get are tailored to local events and local elections. Perhaps people could start a bigger push for reform within the DNC? It's like Obama said in one of his last speeches before Trump won - it just takes one voice in a room to start something bigger.
"YAS QUEEN! SLAY QUEEN!"
You keep saying that, and I've never once heard it before. Did someone traumatize you with that phrase or something?
I never thought I'd see Raidyr get broken like that.
You keep saying that, and I've never once heard it before. Did someone traumatize you with that phrase or something?
I saw it spammed a lot on various social media sites, message boards, etc that were genuinely pro-Clinton.
You keep saying that, and I've never once heard it before. Did someone traumatize you with that phrase or something?
used to be a really popular tumblr thing

I can't imagine that, if it is there, there's a lot of votes but holy shit if proof of that came out I don't know what the hell that would do. I think the people who really drank the kool-aid would go fucking nuts and either double down and become very radical or start an angry mob.
Too many.
Okay so, not only will you be a total and uncompromising hypocrite when you said in another thread to end this kind of shit and start healing but you will be a totally uncompromising hypocrite who also chooses what other people believe because you know better? Stop, and just fucking think for one moment in empathetic terms with the people you "supposedly" want to heal with. Because you're not acting like you ever gave a shit when you're still doing this.
Looking back, I shouldn't have voted Clinton, but I'm not sure if I could reasonably vote for any of the candidates.
I just went fuck it and voted jill stein. The only negative thing I heard about her is that she doesnt like nuclear energy that she sprat painted a bulldozer during a protest. Big whoop. Rather have some hippie in charge then a corrupt elitist and an pants on head reality star. Atleast I know she see actually cares about this country and we wouldnt have a fucking climate change denier as charge of taking care of the enviroment. Gary was a bit much but no where as bad as trump policys imo. That whole aleppo moment didnt matter much to me since we invaded iraq when most americans couldnt point it out on a map. I also think third parties would have had a better chance than hillary if the mass media didnt have them on blacklister, ignored and rediculed. That's just like "Nah I don't wanna deal with your actual thought out responses, just memes please". You don't get to make a post saying that the nation needs to start healing while talking about how you're crying tears of sadness while then turning around and doing the exact shit you just talked against. [editline]10th November 2016[/editline] I mean I'm sick and fucking tired of you people calling me a shill when I never even was that big of a fan of hilary to begin with, it was always the "nevertrump" thing for people like me, but I can't even be left to have my own opinion without people telling me what it is that's not healing or helping and to say "Too many" were genuine clinton supporters without wanting to deal with the fact that many weren't isn't helpful.
im pretty sure no one really supported hillary at all. It was more of, 4 more years of obama which is a hell of a lot better than 4 years of total social collapse and deregulation.
