Competition is the wrong word here, it runs Windows 8.
Also, it's ARM, the surface has both an ARM and an x86 version

No, many Dell desktop built over the past 6 years and many of their laptops suck. They have amazing monitors, and many notable desktops and laptops.

Windows 8?
thank god it doesn't look like the older XPS laptops and desktops
some of them looked like some sort of computer-shaped sports shoes on steroids
My fucking XPS was amazing till the motherboard fried on me. But that was due to Nvidia drivers.
How the hell can you fry a motherboard with GPU drivers? That makes no sense.
Maybe the driver caused it to overheat?
The surface is built from the same kinda materials that make the Nokia Lumia indestructible, and since MS doesn't have to pay for licensing fees they can sell it for cheaper. How exactly is this going to compete with that?

Ehh, the Surface is magnesium as far as I'm concerned, the Lumia line is all polycarbonat.

There was a recall for that specific reason for my model that I never found out about. Simply put, Nvidia was using my XPS out as the first of line of integrated GPUs....as you can see it went horribly.
