Why did you rate me a dumb if you're seeking the same information
You were being a bit too "Give me all this spesific infomation from 3 diffrent places and only then will i belive you, untill then fuck you."
I looked into what the US has to do with this. I came up with this http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/06/22/releasing-joint-strategic-plan-combat-intellectual-property-theft http://www.dailytech.com/Obama+Administration+Announces+Massive+Piracy+Crackdown/article18815.htm
dear EU please reconsider your decision or go to hell , bastards sincerely , everyone
Its sad that the everyday man no longer holds any possible influence in politics anymore.
Yay globalism
What the fuck EU? What the fuck? That's it, I'm moving to Norway.
What the fucking hell?! Though I can stay calm, no way it would be enforced properly here in Romania, like 80-90% of the population here who uses computers pirate shit. If this is enforced it would either result in ISP's going bankrupt since they'll cut the internet for a lot of people, or.. a lot of people being arrested or starting to protest. It would just end in bad at the end.
Guys, calm down. ACTA was completely gutted during negotiations and it has basically none of the terrible things the original version did. It focuses mostly on bootlegging now, although the prescription drug provisions are going to lead to the deaths of many people in poor countries where they can only afford generics.
Only the EU has passed it. ACTA is a trade agreement that is from the US Government. [editline]Break for a fucking retard[/editline] You either: 1) Don't work in IT 2) Know of many IT News resources, let alone reliable ones 3) All of the above. ITWorld is pretty dependable and reliable. They never have let me down.
If it's from the US government, then why doesn't it apply to the US?
If it's from the US government, then why doesn't it apply to the US?
It'll require approval form the WTO nations.
To be fair this was only after it was modified and heavily watered down. It doesn't require nations to invade your privacy or to keep records or anything of the sort like everyone was going batshit over earlier. Now, it simply encourages nations to have measures towards preventing and punishing those who pirate, like a three strikes rules already in place in many European nations and Australia.
The EU is not a country.
civilization seems to be hitting a low note lately well, there's still cynicism

I thought about it for a few minutes.
I don't normally doubt you, but could you give a source?
Sure, I don't know why I didn't provide a source in the first place. Here you go. Doesn't mention anything about whether the drug provisions were taken out or not, so that's why I assumed they still exist. Even that part might have been gutted.

However while some of this may be of "old data" from previous leaks in the ACTA. Since this revision of the ACTA is the 11/15/10 and the latest leaked I know of is of about August. Europe shot down ACTA a while back, and it seemed like this US fueled treaty was dead. So it seems like the spark up of ACTA in the last month with COICA (US Law, not International like ACTA) seems rather coincidental. In terms that it's perhaps its just an implementation. iirc, you COICA is just going to kick off your favorite linux distribution sites off the DNS. With the eventual update to IPv6, it'll get pretty difficult to remember IP addresses. But I also know ACTA was to kill off all P2P network.

Oh no.
If this does go through including all the bad things about internet privacy I don't think everyone is just gonna sit in a corner whining, there's probably going to be some sort of protests sooner or later. That is, if they haven't cut off all the bad things like some people said here.
Fuck this I'm moving to Mars.
Fuck this I'm moving to Mars.
this, I'm gonna go to mars and party with the aliens and go to alien keg parties, it's gonna be totally bros.

And yeah, my understanding is biased to the US version(Me being in the US of course). Still no matter what, if they actually want to do something more this is it. Other than that they're just making copies of laws and calling them new.
Well COICA, I'm "content" as in I can remember IP addresses. But for what its consequences can be, I rather not have these type of filters and regulations over the internet. I would rather the internet just go back to their normal bitching and moaning about health care and other shit they're never going to agree on.
fuck noooooo

Also pretty much in all these cases, the user speaks more than their "provider". So we pretty much always win.(IE: My mindmap) Anyways, healthcare you say? :smug:
As Zeke said, it has been changed a lot. Wouldn't have been accepted otherwise, when it had been rejected pretty much unanimously before. [editline]25th November 2010[/editline] That doesn't mean this shit should be accepted. Remember guys, if this somehow violates your freedom, take it to the EU Court (you will also be an international internet hero when the court rules the part in question as invalid).
Fuck this I'm moving to Mars.
You better get moving then. Nasa Last I heard NASA is still looking for people.
