It's not something we should try, it's like trump is trying to play darts blindfolded.

The exemptions could be extended based on progress in renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement. The move comes as the White House signaled a new flexibility after a six-day drama that has roiled relations with the country’s closest allies, triggered the resignation of National Economic Council chief Gary Cohn and spooked investors. Republicans in Congress have been urging the president to narrow his proposed global tariffs to avoid boomeranging on U.S. businesses and consumers. At 3:30 pm in the Oval Office, the president will meet with steel union workers and “sign the proclamations and within about 15 to 30 days, the tariffs go into effect. The proclamation will have a clause that does not impose these tariffs immediately on Canada and Mexico,” said Peter K. Navarro, the director of the White House’s Trade and Manufacturing Policy office, on Fox Business Wednesday night. Other officials said the timing of the announcement and details of the plan remained fluid and subject to change.[/QUOTE] Trump can't even get a bill passed in 30 days, much less talk Canada and Mexico into renegotiating NAFTA to be "fair" (read: beneficially unfair) to America in that time. He's a petulant little child who demands on rearranging reality to benefit him first. This is just a national version of his "Trump gets two scoops of ice cream and everyone else at the table gets only one" egotistical pettiness. I guess Trump gets to see what happens to his theory that Canada and Mexico won't retaliate. Because we're already threatening it :v:
