Sanius hates men, plain and simple
You didn't give an answer as to why the "hulk" portrayal of men isn't discriminatory against men though.
It hurts men, but it's not discriminatory because it doesn't result from anti-male attitudes; it's a consequence of anti-female attitudes. Since women are perceived to be weaker (misogyny), men are expected to be stronger (consequence of misogyny).
It hurts men, but it's not misandry.

Didn't he(she?) also claim that the penis was of higher value in our society than a vagina, and that it was a "popular symbol of power"?
I remember in another thread Sanius said that misandry doesn't exist.
Anti-male attitudes exist. 'Misandry' to exist would require those attitudes toward males to have the same societal power as the anti-female ones-which they don't.

Yes. Misandry doesn't exist in any meaningful form in the western world. There might be a few inconsequential cases of anti-male prejudice in the backwaters of the internet, but there is no genuine, misandrist anti-male discrimination of any consequence.

Yeah, because absolutely no women are in offic- oh wait.
Well at least none of them ever was the vice presid- oh wait.
Well, not a single woman has ever been a candidate for president of the united s- oh.

Have you, like, never taken a history class?

Except it leads to anti-male attitudes if said males don't conform to that perfection.
Also to the bolded: quite sure that some ideal hurting a certain race/gender/whatever is discrimination.

You heard it here first folks: since we have a black president; racism doesn't exist anymore. Congrats. We did it!
Have you, like, never taken a history class?
(s)he was talking about current society.

isn't this just a conflict between virtue ethics and consequentialism

I never said that Misandry doesn't exist. I'm saying that women now have the same power as men.

ummmm no. Misandry, like misogyny, is a real thing. Just because misandry is no where near as prevelant as misogyny it does not mean it doesn't exist.
Selective services.
Consequence of misogyny. Since women are believed to be weaker, men are expected to be soldiers. And remember, throughout history, while men were expected to be soldiers, women were expected to be war loot, which is a little worse.
One of the ways that misogyny hurts men.
If our society is mysogynist, and hates attributes that appear womanlike, then why are thin, hairless boys with long hair and makeup suddenly the big male attraction?
have you seen how much hate the people you describe get in the majority of circles?
honestly try to think how many times "faggot" has been a word directed at pictures of that kind of person, just on facepunch
it's not like women have lives or anything :l
We all have lives and personal goals. I'm talking about the big picture of society. Women want to look pretty to improve their 'value' and men engage in all manners of competition to obtain these valuable women.
These are the foundations of the human race.

wait what I'm fairly sure murder is worse than rape
I mean both are terrible but that ought to go without saying [sub][sub]right[/sub][/sub]

Wasn't there a study that uncovered that female leaders were less likely to hire men? Won't use it as a fact since I'm not sure, but I think I remember hearing about it on Swedish news (they were also less likely to hire hot women).
Before someone says that it's not misandry because they also discriminate against hot women, you're wrong, you can discriminate against more than one race/gender/whatever (if you say that, then Nazis weren't racist either because they also hated their own, if they were crippled/retarded/deformed or had a differing opinion).

Also looking at all the dumbs flying, somebody call an ambulance because we have some severe cases of anal concussion in here.
You guys better be still going tomorrow morning, was too long since I participated in a proper Facepunch shitfest like this one.
wait what I'm fairly sure murder is worse than rape
Hey dude, niggling pedantry isn't really useful when we're having trouble with the basics, here.
snip, i can't read
I might be going on a bit of a pseudo-Freudian tangent
oohhhH GOD fucking freud
but the real problem I have with feminism is that they tend to portray women being treated as being lesser 'beings' than men, in a society where men dominate everything and women supposedly stand at the sidelines.
that has 0 to do with feminism!
At first glance they seem to have a point, but when you consider the situation further you quickly realize that it's women who dominate society, and not men. It may not be in a way that they find preferable, but ever since the stone-age, women have been the cornerstone of mankind and its society.
but they couldn't vote till 1913; that's the fucking point of feminism, to put women socially and economically on the same level of men.
what possible relevance does your pseudo-Freudian (extra topping of pseudo) have to the woman who makes less than the man, or to the woman who is sexually harassed in the office, or even to the man who is deemed a failure due to his inability to match societies expectations of masculine sexuality? that's what feminism is about.
Women, with their gift of childbirth, are a priceless commodity in a world where everyone wants to pass on their genes. We're all hardwired to have that as our prime lifegoal, even if our consciousness and life as it is tends to 'complicate things' and make life out to seem like something way more important than it actually is.
ugh
Like I already said, in a society like that women become a priceless commodity. Compare it to the animal kingdom with it's alpha male and its harem. Women are so important that its only natural for them to be objectified. They're like the great big prize in the competition we call life. Sex is obviously a part of that, because that's the act with which we pass out genes.
oh brother
In that light, the so called "rape culture" also becomes easy to explain. Like with all other things with great value, criminals will attempt to steal it.
no we're pretty sure that's not the explanation.
Michael Kimmel is a sociologist at the State University of New York who has received international recognition for his work on men and masculinity. He says violent men often view their actions as revenge or retaliation. "They say, women have power over me because they're beautiful and sexual and I want them and they elicit that and I feel powerless," he says. "Just listen for a minute to the way in which we describe women's beauty and sexuality. We describe it as a violence against us. She is a knock-out, a bomb-shell, dressed to kill, a femme fatale, stunning, ravishing. I mean all of these are words of violence against us. It's like, wow, she knocked me out. So the violence then, or the aggression or the sexual violence is often a way to retaliate."

At the end of the day we are just animals with our urges and instincts. Females represent great value to our race, and thus it is 'natural' for us to objectify and protect this resource. All the problems feminists have with society stem from this 'core-issue', and it is something that most likely will never change.
look you might feel that you are "just" an animal; with that notion you can remain forever in your abstract world where completely debunked Freudian garbage still has some credibilility.
meanwhile i'll be rooting for the women who say "hey maybe we shouldn't get less money for the same work" or "hey maybe we should be able to have birth control".
YOU AREN'T SAYING ANYTHING
You keep saying that, what does it even mean. He's saying a valid point.
have you seen how much hate the people you describe get in some circles?
See: A lot of Justin Bieber's hatedom.
Which is a stupid reason to hate him, as there's plenty of good reasons to hate the little twerp-see: anti-choicerism, christianism and stupid songs.

let's not turn this into a petty argument about religion please thank you
look I think we're really just arguing over labels here
what actual difference of anticipation do we have

YOU AREN'T SAYING ANYTHING
Uhhhh.... what? I did say something.
that's bullshit
What? That you can discriminate against more than one type of people? In that case, yeah I agree, that's what I'm saying.
We all have lives and personal goals. I'm talking about the big picture of society. Women want to look pretty to improve their 'value' and men engage in all manners of competition to obtain these valuable women.
both are a result of misogyny
