Everyone steals from everyone.
sure, everybody steals from everyone else in an industry like this but what I was trying to get at before I was permabanned is that Apple never gives credit where credit is due
I know that they can hardly give Google a huge pat on the back and say thanks for coming up with the idea of pull-down notifications, but they could at least say that they were inspired by the Android OS instead of coming across as though they thought it all up themselves and shouting from the rooftops that it completely revolutionizes notifications
I heard somewhere that iOS 5 will be compatible with iPhone 2G? Is that true?
Hooray! I don't even have a phone myself but this is great news for my dad!
seems like an okay update, the iPhone 4 has voice control anyway, I've been using it while driving recently which is pretty useful, I guess Siri is just an improvement of that. The accessible camera from lock-screen is probably the best one for me :v:
I think I just agreed to removing all apps by installing this. wtf
Dammit, right before I scrolled down the thread I did the same thing.
When you upgrade or restore you lose your jailbreak, also this makes no sense
Not hard, my sim used to function before jailbreak, now it didn't even with installing the Cydia stuff. I was hoping the update would reset my jailbreak so that my sim would work.

You could have just done a restore in iTunes. Updating to iOS 5 will get rid of it also.
how the fuck do i get the camera icon on the lockscreen
how the fuck do i get the camera icon on the lockscreen
Press the home button twice on the lockscreen.
Bah, my 2g ipod touch is stuck on ios 4 :(
to bad the servers are so clogged you cant download get it on ur iphone :smith:
Will definitely update when I can jailbreak it

:suicide:
Makes me excited for my iPhone 4S. I really am disappointed I'm not getting an iPhone 5, but I really cannot wait any longer for a new phone (my phone does not have a keyboard anymore and only sometimes gets my texts calls) and I want to go iPhone cause I already have a lot of money tied up in apps because of my old iTouch, and it just makes sense considering i have a Macbook.
And Im definitely not saying iOS is better, than android, but because I had used iOS for a few years before android even came around, it just feels a lot smoother and more natural to me.
But really its a win win whether you have an iPhone or not. Keeping android on their toes.
to bad the servers are so clogged you cant download get it on ur iphone :smith:
Yeah, I'm trying to update iTunes and it's downloading at like 20kbps.
Pro tip: There's direct downloads available here, which still seem to go through Apple but seem to be a league faster than doing it through iToons (I'm getting line speed ~5mb). If they're still slow for you, let me know what model you have and I'll mirror the most popular.
Damn, all I'm getting when trying to update the iPad are timeouts. Apple still has a lot of fans despite their shitty market share percentage.
doesn't take away from the fact that it is stolen right from android, and that android has had features much like this for longer than iOS
suppose it's still nice for those of you that own a phone with a horrible locked down OS to boost your e-peen
(User was banned for this post ("troll" - garry))
why does it even matter seriously
the end user wont care if "oh android had it first!!!" it's nice for people who have iPhones to be able to use a cool new feature
I'm holding off on this update. I am hearing a lot about 3200 errors... I'd wait for a revision to iOS 5.0.
Why the fuck do I have to update to itunes 10.5 to get the update. Next thing they'll do is restrict our access to all software until we update to the latest version of osx.

Doesn't have anything to do with the firmware, it's an iTunes problem.
Doesn't have anything to do with the firmware, it's an iTunes problem.
So the errors are something with file corruption or something, from everyone downloading this at once?

Because some of the iOS 5 features require it. Like syncing over wifi, that can't obviously be done if your iTunes doesn't support it.

I believe it's because of the huge amount of traffic on their servers right now, you can probably get around it by putting your phone into DFU mode.

Apparently there are some guides about how to get around it already: http://cydiahelp.com/fix-error-3200-ios-5-updating-in-itunes/

Wow, so many errors for people updating, Apple should take a hint from Microsoft: They managed to update 70% of their userbase to WP7.5 in less than two weeks with no issues.

still no flash?
still no flash?
There never will be. This is why Android is superior.
looks like my ipod toug will only be for musics then
Not sure but most of the shit on iOS 5 where stolen from Apps Apple banned and took credit for.
And google "innovated" by buying out small businesses and using their ideas
What's your point? No company isn't guilty of doing stuff like that
