Went around to a bunch of stores today and none of them had anything.
Just went on a quick chat with Amazon:
Me:When can I purchase and HP TouchPad 16GB from Amazon for $99?
Sadiq:Hello, my name is Sadiq. I'll be happy to help you today.
I'm sorry the product is no longer being offered from us directly and we're not sure if we'll be able to get the item again.
Me:Okay thank you. If i have already purchased the product from Amazon before the price drop , what are my options?
Sadiq:Thanks for waiting.
As per our standard policy we'll not the price drop.
However, only in this case we'll honor the price as an one time exception.

Ahahahahaha

Seriously, my stereotype senses are tingling.

You can survive 3 months with 99$
But only if you're a student.

This is the number to call if you want to get one. It has an automated response. If you get a guy voice that means they have too many callers and they gave you an error message. Just keep trying. If you get a girl voice press 2 for 'browse items' and 1 after that for 'computers'. After a brief wait it will put you on the line with an operator who will take your order.
They are already out of 16gig models, 32gigs are still in stock, but sales are going extremely fast. Call this number RIGHT NOW if you want one.
Yeah, fuck that, it'll probably sell out while you're waiting.

Been on hold for the last 40 minutes, don't want to get off now because I know as soon as I hang up a slot will most likely open.
There was a DataVis ebay listing that sold 6,378 in 20 minutes.
I was one of them.
Friend of mine started shoping at various Wal-Marts around the city this morning, he bought six. At first I thought he was doing it so that he could then resell them for a profit but he is actually being pretty cool and selling them to friends and family for the price he paid.
Oh for fucks sake, I was on hold ever since funnybunny posted that number, I was also using the site at the same time. I hung up since my info was going through and everything, and soon as I hit the submit order button it gives me an error.
Attempting to order from the small business site, put the order info through, just waiting for it to finish processing. Hope it doesn't get cancelled.

So does this mean the pending $320 transaction on my bank account won't go through?
So does this mean the pending $320 transaction on my bank account won't go through?
from what I read, the transaction will only be committed when they get more stock in
Thats what you get for using VBscript hp
Holy fuck VBscript SUCKS, I keep submitting my order and it keeps rejecting it.
It seems like it's pretty much sold out everywhere, but you can use this website to get notified when there is more stock.
I'm waiting until Newegg puts it on stock, not worth dicking around with HP at the moment.
Looks like even that website isn't even responsive. :v:

I really hope this makes HP rethink the backend of their website because this is fucking ridiculous.
The Amazon UK site has cut the price but it's still a massive £275, fucking rip-off compared to US
Went to 4 stores including Best Buy and Microcenter. All of them were sold out, although Best Buy apparently recalled them.
I hope that there's going to be a possibility of porting Android to it.

Judging by every other carrier of the product, Newegg will be shipping their stocks to HP, not selling them to customers.

According to a few people who have spoken to Newegg reps, they will be selling them at a lower price at a later date.

There's already someone running Honeycomb on it apparently.
This makes me so sad. The Touchpad is easily better than any Honeycomb tablet in terms of smoothness and user-experience. If HP had invested a bit more into advertising and app development, along with selling the 16gb version for 300-350 (It costs them 296 dollars to make one) from the beginning, they could have easily propelled themselves into second place behind the iPad. Instead they half-ass it and then give up after 50 days of sales.

They are leaving hardware and going into software, their website is not a good sign of this.
Well the charge went through but I didn't receive an email or anything, should I be worried?

What website did you order it from?

The hp small business site, as soon as the processing screen finished it when to an error page.

IMO they were too late to the game and that was their real problem.

No idea then. I ordered from there as well. This twitter explains some stuff.
I'd say check the credit card to check for a charge on it. Or there is an order history button to check to see if it registered.

They said the website had a glitch where it wouldn't show that they were sold out. You might not get it.
