• HP TouchPad $99 Fire Sale in effect in Canada

So I just got back. When the press release was made by Best Buy, it was in the middle of the night for the East Coast so when I was looking on Twitter, people were posting about how they just got it at Best Buy while here in the pacific, Best Buy was still open and they were selling the tablets to anyone that happened to walk in right when they got the memo from corporate. Fortunately for me, after getting back home, I receive a little GMail icon in my notification bar stating that my order has been confirmed on HP.com (from 5PM PST when I ordered it about twelve hours before the email arrived)
Any way for the folks living in the EU to get one of these tablets for $99?
Any way for the folks living in the EU to get one of these tablets for $99?
Not at the moment it seems. I am hoping this "offer" comes over here as well. I assume HP have a lot of Touchpads in the EU to shift as well.
Anyone who bought a tablet on HP.com but it happened to crash during your credit card authorization should check their email, I got mine 12 hours after I got the error completely to my surprise.

Ahahahaha, I called a local BestBuy to see if they had any stock left. The automated answering machine did this: "Welcome to BestBuy Westfield, Home of the Geek Squad! We have run out of HP Touchpads"

I just realized it's harder to get a touchpad than it was to get a wii before Christmas after it's release.

Though one's for my parents :v: The ones on eBay are a little pricey yet but still $230 is cheaper than $500.
HP.com has been out of stock. https://twitter.com/#!/BrynaAtHP/
Yeah but the question is, will they honor the people who bought it while it was still up?
Yeah but the question is, will they honor the people who bought it while it was still up?
Since some BB's started selling their stock in store, so I honestly doubt it with how many people took advantage of the deal because HP won't be getting tens of thousands of stock back probably. See this page for reference: http://www.hp.com/go/touchpad-availability
:suicide:
Like I said in that steam chat, the sooner you buy the better your chances. So keep your head up
Since most retailers shipped their stock back to HP, I'd say that SMB buyers still have a good chance of getting it. Selling the remaining stock will be the best way for HP to get money for them. [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] Wow, Staples has their price set to $50 because they forgot to take the -$50 tag from when it was still $500.
Eh either way I'll order another just in case from Newegg.
Newegg won't PM.
Newegg won't PM.
According to Twitter, a guy called up and they said to check back on Monday/Tuesday.
Newegg won't PM.
I thought Newegg said they were going to sell their stock at a later date? I just signed up for a price alert so I'll get an email the moment it drops below $200
According to Twitter, a guy called up and they said to check back on Monday/Tuesday.
Oh, well hmm. I didn't see anything about that on the SlickDeals thread (I added to OP btw) http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3220862
I just ordered mine during Amazon's Lightning Sale. And I have one I ordered yesterday on the HP SMB site 15 minutes before the HP rep tweeted about the glitch. :v:
So I went out to Office Depot yesterday morning and got their last one. Made me happy. But any Gamevil game and most 3D games are giving me white textures on everything. It's depressing.
Bought one at Staples for the fantastic price of $99, woooo
I'd really enjoy if a FPer would post a review.
Carphone Warehouse in Salisbury earlier today said they had heard about it but couldn't sell it at that price until they were given the go by management. Supposedly people who had rung HP Customer Support UK earlier were told that retailers would be informed of the RRP change at about 9 / 10am tomorrow morning (of course they still have to get the message out to stores). I'll go hunting tomorrow for one.
Probably too late now, but: http://www.amazon.com/Smartbuy-TouchPad-QUALCOMM-Snapdragon-Wireless/dp/B0056UOUC8 http://www.amazon.com/HP-FB356UT-QUALCOMM-Snapdragon-Wireless/dp/B0056UOUHS http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/HP_TouchPad_Tablet/FB356UTABA/11394712/
Bought one of the top ones. WOOO [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] I hope OnSale wasn't out of stock
Me too. I just ordered one from them.
I bought two off Ebay yesterday at around this time... it's been 10 hours since I got the confirmation straight from the seller, DataVis. Fingers crossed or I'm fucked.
I currently have two touch pads ordered. One from HP SMB, and the other from Amazon. I'd say I have about 75% chance of getting a touchpad. Not going to risk ordering another because I don't want to end up with 3 touchpads through some fluke.
