“Obviously contacts with Russian intelligence officials are monitored: that’s part of maintaining our national security. So, if under the Obama administration they were simply monitoring contacts with Russian officials – not trying to wiretap into the Trump campaign but simply looking at who Russian officials were talking with – and then Trump campaign officials got ensnared in that net, then it’s a total mischaracterisation to say President Obama was wiretapping Trump.”
To note.
To note.
so basically he accused them of a crime they didn't do that he could only know about if he were himself committing a crime this might his most five dimensional move yet
Its too early to say but wow imagine having a president so ignorant of the law in his own country that he publicly incriminates himself.
The ravings of a mentally disturbed old fart
Legitimate question: has Trump had a mental health assessment performed by a competent and objective third party?
Legitimate question: has Trump had a mental health assessment performed by a competent and objective third party?
no. Even his doctor's note didnt touch on that, pathetic as it was.
Legitimate question: has Trump had a mental health assessment performed by a competent and objective third party?
If he did do you really think that he'd accept anything negative that could come out of such an assessment?
If he did do you really think that he'd accept anything negative that could come out of such an assessment?
Best American doctors agree nobody's brain is more special than mine. Losing Obama probably has too much IQ. SAD!
Christ, this is his most transparent deflection yet.
If he did do you really think that he'd accept anything negative that could come out of such an assessment?
FAKE (and pathetic) brain assessment set up by the fake news media networks! Very unfair and SAD!
i want to get off mr. trumps wild ride
Legitimate question: has Trump had a mental health assessment performed by a competent and objective third party?
Even if he did we wouldn't be told about any issues. Reagan's Alzheimer's was kept a secret until after he died, and that only effected part of his presidency.

If we're being honest here I can't even keep track of the amount of wild accusatory statements being made these past few months, it feels like the nature of controversy itself has changed from something groundbreaking to something literally out of satire itself.
This is probably the closest Trump has come yet to a confession of Russian collusion. If Russian spies were being wiretapped, and found to be in contact with Trump campaign officials while the DNC and RNC were being hacked, and only the DNC info was leaked... He's guilty of treason. I think he knows it's over. I hope they make him wait before dropping the hammer. Let him get even more panicky and paranoid.
Did people forget that the Five Eyes exist or something? Everyone is by-default wiretapped. The interesting question is, was that data ever accessed by the Obama administration. That's a question you'll never get an answer to.

If he did get impeached, how would people react? How would his supporters act? How would the more middling ones deal with this? How about the extremists? I fear for the nation.
So big guy Can you show us proof that there's a wire in the White House that Obama is officially tied to, and not, y'know, potentially one of your own wires you may of put in there to keep tabs on your people, or are you just gonna parade around going "thanks obama" after you've already won the presidency and been fucking things up for over a month? oh, the latter, okay it's no big deal or anything, y'know, just, just uh it's kind of getting old and all
If he did get impeached, how would people react? How would his supporters act? How would the more middling ones deal with this? How about the extremists? I fear for the nation.
I think his hardcore supporters who would actually delude themselves enough to believe that he's being set up are a small enough number that the rest of the country could effectively tell them to sit down and shut up, and they'd have no choice but to comply.
The worst part of this imo is that some people (eg. my dad) actually buy into this crazy shit. I can't tell if Trump genuinely believes this or he's just trying to rile his supporters up even more.
I talked to my mom and she supports Trump 100% and thinks everything on TV is fake. Really ate that shit up. And when I was telling her about things that are absolutely true, with actual facts that she couldn't just say Fake News at, all she had to say was And? So? "He's racist, So?" Jesus But what can you expect from someone who lives in the woods, without internet, and only has the 3 main news outlets for info
OMFG, Guys you not going to fucking believe this, But A lot of Conservatives are estatic because Obama got Caught. They Claim that the Obama administration WAS in fact spying on conservatives, and that Denial was a lie.
OMFG, Guys you not going to fucking believe this...
You're right, cause I really don't see any proof.

If they tried to cause problems, we could put them down. The tens of millions of people as he's successfully managed to alienate in just a few months with his words and his actions-- immigrants and ethnic/religious minorities in particular, also women, the younger generations (who lean to the left and shun conservatism in general), etc.-- would be more than happy to see him gone; it's not too much of a stretch to think that they'd be willing to apply the same hatred towards his supporters if they started causing problems for the country (assuming they don't already hate them, I mean). Not to mention the enemies he's made out of the media, the scientific community, the way he walked in and insulted the CIA and the intelligence community in general, our allies, etc. (powerful institutions and groups in other words). He's not wanted by the majority of us. He was never wanted by the majority of us. We want rid of him. We wanted rid of him from the beginning. [editline]4 March 2017[/editline] He is going to have to be removed from office though and severely punished. So are his cronies. Because with the way things are, the current message is that apparently you can lie to the American people and the government, you can lie about lying ("alternative facts"), you can abuse your position of power to an unheard of extent in our country's history for your own personal benefit, you can make all sorts of hateful remarks against innocent people and political opponents, you can try to silence the media and stomp around like a mini-autocrat... and nothing will be done. You won't be stopped or punished. That's not acceptable, not if we intend to continue having a democracy.

We don't really know what will happen if Trump is impeached, this would be the first time in modern history such a thing had happened, to the best of my knowledge. Even Nixon had the grace to resign when he knew the battle was lost. Trump may not.

Even Nixon had the grace to resign when he knew the battle was lost. Trump may not.
Same. It's a natural, understandable conclusion to everything that's been going on in this country over the years though: increasing political polarization, distrust of government (which isn't entirely unjustified but the right-wing always loved to take it to extremes), more radical politics and fringe movements springing up, the growing economic divides between classes and the death of the middle class, etc. You can't have this much social, economic, and political jumbling and not expect for their to be consequences to it-- especially when somebody like this guy comes along and manages to become president. Again, it's a natural and understandable conclusion that we would degenerate to this point. This is what I've been trying to get people to understand over the last couple of years. The question is where do we go once we've consolidated ourselves again and have solved some (or most) of these issues? I don't think he would resign so calmly like Nixon did. I'm not sure of that, but based off of his behavior in the past, I think he'd try to rally them around him and go down fighting. He threatened as much during the campaign season when asked if he'd accept the results of the election ("If I win."), in the aftermath of his propaganda about the system being rigged against him when it was evident he was going to lose the popular vote and didn't have the majority support of the American people. Not to mention his bombastic behavior towards Clinton (his "Second Amendment people" comment for example) and the fact that he did nothing to quell supporters who were openly threatening assassination and rebellion against her and the government if she became president (indeed, with the comments he made he deliberately stoked this aggressive mindset in them; he wanted them to be like this). "Orange Mussolini" is an appropriate title for him. Past examples clearly show his character, both in terms of his words and his actions. He's a flamboyant tough guy (an absolute narcissist), and I think that his ego is so fragile (like a balloon that needs constant pumping but is vulnerable to every pinprick) that there's no way he'd just gracefully accept being thrown out of office. That would just be too disgraceful and embarrassing.
