Sometimes there's not enough people on a shift to even man a station. Overtime pay is non-existent, so when the time for shift change comes around, there's usually only about 5 rigs available until enough people arrive. And it's not only the rigs that are in bad shape, it's also their equipment. Turnout gear, the stuff worn by firefighers, is normally tan/light tan. You look at them operating at a fire, and some of the firefighers are wearing turnout gear that's dark brown, even black(Which is a sign that the gear is weakened, and won't offer nearly as much protection.)And some of them don't even wear their gear at all. And this is only the fire department I'm talking about. Think about the citizens, they're paying double digit taxes for piddly-ass mayor clay to drive around in his Hummer H3, they receive less-than-adequate public services, and the city's still a shithole.
