Why Ad Blocking is devastating to the sites you love

I'll stop using adblock when flash ads no longer exist.
Well, sorry, but these days ads are way too ugly and distracting for me to leave them unblocked.

I don't feel guilty at the slightest.

By the way, there should be a simple way to actually ask the server for the ad, and just don't render it then. You would have to use the broadband to download it, but that isn't a problem for most people, and the ad providers would have mostly no way of checking if you actually do or don't see the ad.
If the two banner adds on Facepunch are hurting your loadings times, then maybe it's time you get rid of that dial-up?
And maybe it isn't? Maybe I don't need to pay more money for my internet connection just to be able to see more ads?

Ads? what ads? :smug:
Fucking MochiAds is ruining flash video games.
Don't care for ads or how it affects the company. If you suck life into the site from the ads, you are doing it horribly wrong.
I stopped using Adblock and Noscript when I made the move to Chrome.
They were both more frustrating to use than just living with the ads in the first place. Having to whitelist whole lists of "things" just to watch simple (non-pornographic) videos or to play flashgames was awful.
I'm not sure where you guys are seeing all these sound-playing, pop-up-spewing, flash ads because I haven't seen a single one in months. The only remotely annoying ads I have seen are those on Youtube that keep appearing in front of the video I am trying to watch.
Think of poor garry, he'll go broke when he stops receiving the massive revenue made by the single banner ad at the bottom of Facepunch.com...
Fuck off cunts. Stop cramming our eyes and ears with advertising and we won't fucking block it.

Garry eats money for breakfast
I only put one website on my whitelist, and that's a small time modding team's forum, and the money for the server is dished out by one guy.
garry has enough money from gmod, i don't think he will be financially crippled if we blocked ads on facepunch :colbert:
There is a good way to do ads, and there is a bad way to do ads.
I think Facepunch handles ads well, they're only at the very bottom of the page, and not swarming around the content.
Some sites I go to have in-text ads, so anytime I accidentally roll my mouse over a specific word, I get a pop up thing blocking a chunk of the article I'm trying to read. And I really hate the Youtube ads. I hate the oversized Flash banner on the homepage; I hate Flash in general especially ads. And I hate the in-video ads even more. I'm glad Adblock takes care of that shit.
But yeah, I think Facepunch is responsible with their ads, so I whitelisted it.
This thread reminded me I needed to reinstall adblock plus! Thanks!
Ads'b'gone
I hate ads. They only make pages look ugly.
I don't block ads. I don't need to, they don't bother me.
When ads were links and simple, thin pictures, I didn't use adblocking. Now that they are fucking EVERYWHERE I block everything but Google's plaintext ad system. Besides, Google is by far the best choice, sometime those links are actually interesting. Much better than "Facebook of SEX!!!!" and other shit I don't want to fucking see every time I go to a site.
I actually use a custom Hosts file. That way, the ads are blocked before my computer even sees them. Then my adblocking tool(I use Opera) is sort just a backup.
I only unblocked ads here because of the fact that they can be pretty funny at times and they're not very annoying. At other sites, they're just down right obnoxious.
When ads stop being fucking annoying I'll stop using Adblocker.
Hey how about I go ahead and keep this awesome addon mkay?
Oh well, too bad. I'll keep using AdBlock for my own benefit, thanks.
Never mind AdBlock keeps me from getting viruses every time I visit FPSBanana.
i guess you could say... ad blocking is devestating to the sites you love... xD

This.
Some of you guys sound like all you do is browse through Warez sites... like most websites nowaways are swarmed with trojans/popups/ads/random crap!
If you are smart enough to use an adblocker, then you probably know that you are never going to click an ad anyway.
