• GJ: Iran sends weapons to Nigeria
The shipping containers filled with illegal weapons seized in Lagos, Nigeria, earlier this week came from Iran, a leading global shipping company said Saturday. The company, CMA CGM, said it was a victim of false cargo declaration. The shipper -- who the company identified as an Iranian trader -- had listed the materials inside the containers as "packages of glass wool and pallets of stone." The containers in question were loaded in Bandar Abbas, a port in southern Iran, and discharged in Lagos in July, the company said. They were then transferred to a depot. Last week, the shipper asked that the containers be re-loaded and sent to Gambia, CMA CGM said in a statement, adding that the trader had obtained the necessary documentation and clearance for customs. Authorities in Nigeria intervened before the containers were moved. Nigeria's security service said earlier this week that it had seized 13 shipping containers in the Lagos port filled with illegal weapons, including rockets, grenades and bullets. Each shipping container carries 20 wooden crates. The seizure comes as Nigeria prepares for the 2011 elections, which analysts say are likely to be one of the most-controversial and potentially most-violent elections in the country's history.
http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/africa/10/30/nigeria.smuggled.weapons/index.html Video on site
Iran didn't send weapons. Some Iranian guy did. A perfect example of people being so ignorant they think Iran is funding every terrorist group in the world.
Iran didn't send weapons. Some Iranian guy did. That way, the ignorant will gather and think that Iran as a whole is full of "bad guys."
THIRTEEN crates full of illegal weapons isn't something that you can just slip by customs. Of course the Iranians are in on it. You've been watching too many movies if you think that you can actually do this without anyone noticing.
Iran didn't send weapons. Some Iranian guy did. Here's betting they are Iranian made weapons. Although yes, it would be ignorant to say Iran is funding every terrorist group in the world. They're just funding a lot of Islamist Terrorist Groups, the most prevalent of any type of terror group.

Do you really think all the narcotics sold in the states are made in the states? Obviously they're imported. Customs doesn't catch anything, especially when it's outbound.
If by shipping containers you mean X13 Then I have my doubts it's only one person.
Except this is a case with obvious connections to the Iranian government.

described how a man it said was a "Taliban treasurer" had gone to collect $18,000 from an Iranian firm in Kabul
Nope.
Except this is a case with obvious connections to the Iranian government.
Wow, someone sneaks past Iranian customs and god knows how horrible they are at security checks etc. as they aren't necessarily a well developed nation and that means it was some big Iranian government conspiracy?
Nope.
That's not the article I posted imbecile
Wow, someone sneaks past Iranian customs and god knows how horrible they are at security checks etc. as they aren't necessarily a well developed nation and that means it was some big Iranian government conspiracy?
Iran is actually quite developed, strange that when people try to say that Iranians are primitive desert people there is always protest, but now this is your defensive argument.
That's alot of weapons, shipping those out of iran couldn't have happened without the government atleast turning a blind eye to the whole affair. It's not like Ahmadinejad payed for the weapons himself, but iranian customs should've picked the shipment up.
Iran is actually quite a modern country.
Iran is actually quite developed, strange that when people try to say that Iranians are primitive desert people there is always protest, but now this is your defensive argument.
They aren't as developed as the US or Britian and such, yet illegal shit gets in those countries all the time.

[editline]31st October 2010[/editline]
They aren't as developed as the US or Britian and such, yet illegal shit gets in those countries all the time.
And both are way more developed than Nigeria, yet they seem to have intercepted the weapons. Go Nigeria.
Iran is actually quite a modern country.
If you define development as the standard of living, and by extension the HDI, then Iran is 88 4 places above china.
There's evidence of Iran supplying weapons to terrorist groups in the past, too. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Iran-training-Taliban-fighters-how-to-use-surface-to-air-missiles-1328182-105728878.html##ixzz13UZFrhjJ This is the most recent example.
That's not the article I posted imbecile Iran is actually quite developed, strange that when people try to say that Iranians are primitive desert people there is always protest, but now this is your defensive argument.
Honestly, you are being fucking ignorant. If I'm part of the USA and I smuggle weapons, is the USA a terrorist group? No. But Russia will put it to them that way so that Europe can roll their tanks in with support from other countries. Do you see what I'm getting at? It was one guy, not the entire fucking Iranian government. And yes, it is a developed country, but not as developed as USA because of the shitty sanctions against them, put there by the fat fucking cunts in the UN.
That is human development, not industrial or economic or political development.
You said development, which is extremely vague by definition. You could say a country with proper highways is developed simply because it has decent infrastructure. But the different types of development are somewhat related. The most industrious nations with the large percentages of their workers in Tertiary industries, also tend to be the healthiest and tend to have the best education and such. I had an excellent program with some good chart making utilities on it, if I find it i'll message you. But I'm guessing it was just a handful of ignorant/lazy or greedy officials turning a blind eye.
Iran is actually quite developed, strange that when people try to say that Iranians are primitive desert people there is always protest, but now this is your defensive argument.
Not compared to the UK and the US, even then, shit gets smuggled there constantly. Stop trying to exploit and bullshit every Islamic related news to further preach your bullshit
The shipper -- who the company identified as an Iranian trader
Yeah, shut the fuck up. And it's just a coincidence that Iranian companies fund terrorist groups, military grade Iranian weapons find their way to every theatre of Islamist activity, the Iranian leader is an avowed Jihadist, all of this stuff is unrelated?

I hope for your sake you never run a country.
Iran didn't send weapons. Some Iranian guy did. A perfect example of people being so ignorant they think Iran is funding every terrorist group in the world.
Perhaps, but I find it unusual that one person is sending massive shipments of guns by himself. It could be a front. Iran has given weapons to unfriendly people in the past...
