I've never really understood tongue piercings. It would make eating difficult when you had it in (or at least bothersome), and people would only really see it when you open your mouth to talk or chew.

It really doesn't. You get used to it and it's like it was never there. Eating is still easy.

Granted my ears aren't stretched as large as some of the more extreme examples, but the holes in my ears are in fact the size you see (i can fit a sharpie through no problem), and no it didn't hurt. Ear stretching looks painful, but its really just the process of picking up the slack over gradual changes. As long as you're not a complete fuckwit about rushing it, it wont hurt and they'll shrink back down if you take them out for a month.

Your intolerance of a certain apperance doesn't mean everyone else shares that, or your narrow minded view. Looks to a lesser extreme than that are apparent all over the place, maybe not in the states, but they're very popular looks regardless of how you feel about it.
