well uh they cant???
I'm sorry you have to live with such paranoia
Sounds like someone does not know what they are talking about when it comes to firearms and their laws.
because i dont care about the technicalities of assault weapons or any of that shit guns are guns, guns were designed to kill people, stop gettin so huffy that people dont like deadly weapons
can you please post your full name so everyone can make sure to never let you run for any political office?
Too bad I had some ideas that might really improve this country. Including stricter regulations on the firearms trade. [editline]edit[/editline] apparently my sarcasm was not as obvious as I had intended. I gave a ridiculous answer to a ridiculous scenario.
the guy who shot up the movie theater wasn't a criminal and he gained his weapons legally
what's your point
Competition rifles do incorporate a pistol grip shaped grip, and a collapsable stock (depending on folding or adjusting) also means more comfort to the user (refererring to the latter, such as M4 styled stocks) so some features do allegedly allow user-friendliness; Also why do you call firearms a precision "killing machine"? What about people who participate in the Olympics in competition shooting? What about those athletes who are within the IPSC program? They merely use firearms as a sporting tool, much like a baseball player uses a bat or a golfer who uses a club as an implement so I find the term a bit biased, and sets your argument in a aggressive tone for gun control
one of the more interesting things is that russia, which has somewhat strict gun laws, has locally-made ar-15 copies being made just for competition. these ar-15s have the usual "scary" features like pistol grips and collapsible stocks, but they're still used for competitions.
What's also interesting in the article is last I checked (correct if I'm wrong, my information is 1 week old) the shooter didn't have any form of bad history which puts background checks in question as to whether or not it's a foolproof way to regulate firearms
yeah such systems don't work as well as you think they would. they're good in theory, but lots of mentally ill people slip through the cracks because of how awful america's mental health system works. people like holmes can easily get a gun because they were never institutionalized, much less anyone noting behavior in line with someone mentally ill. it's easy to say "well he should've never gotten a gun" after he shoots people up, but it's actually pretty hard to tell before he does it unless it's obvious.
who gives a fuck about original intention. lots of stuff originally had "bad" origins, but that doesn't mean you're seeing campaigns to ban the gps because it was designed to make it easier to land nukes or dismiss nuclear power because anything nuclear has origins in making nuclear weapons
I never said we should ban guns, and I never said the genesis of firearms was reason to ban guns, just that that guns were originally created and continue to be created, for the most part, to kill things.
BAN SWORDS. AND KNIVES. Those are designed also to kill people VERY WELL. BOWS AND ARROWS TOO. Fucking crossbows. Muskets. Ban all that fucking shit! It all at one point was designed to kill people! They were the "assault rifles" of their day! BAN THAT SHIT!
nobody is saying outright banning guns can you please read the thread you are posting in.
I'm sorry you have to live with such paranoia
the long history of public shootings and massacres says otherwise, dogg
because i dont care about the technicalities of assault weapons or any of that shit guns are guns, guns were designed to kill people, stop gettin so huffy that people dont like deadly weapons
Knives are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Swords are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Axes are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Bows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Crossbows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Your point? Should we ban all of those also?
what's your point
so saying that criminals would have guns anyway is irrelevant, this guy wasn't a criminal, he didn't get his weapons through illegal means and had no criminal ties whatsoever.
No. You can't. Look up the definition of assault rifle before continuing. Please.
sorry i mean "assault weapon"
no, lets ban stuff that was specifically designed to make it easy to kill shitloads of people. how the fuck can you not understand THAT'S the argument and not the bullshit you keep putting in other peoples mouths?
The point I'm trying to make is that if you ban things that kills people, they'll just find another thing to kill people with. I apologize for your lack of comprehension.
I never said we should ban guns, and I never said the genesis of firearms was reason to ban guns, just that that guns were originally created and continue to be created, for the most part, to kill things. nobody is saying outright banning guns can you please read the thread you are posting in.
Then what are we talking about? Assault rifles already have very strict restrictions.
so saying that criminals would have guns anyway is irrelevant, this guy wasn't a criminal, he didn't get his weapons through illegal means and had no criminal ties whatsoever.
people in the audience could have had a means to defend themselves had assault rifles been legal
Knives are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Swords are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Axes are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Bows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Crossbows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Your point? Should we ban all of those also?
please provide evidence of at least one occurrence of a single person armed with any of those killed a bunch of people and injuring shitloads more
sorry i mean "assault weapon"
What defines an assault weapon? Can I own an assault stick? Assault rock? Assault shoe?
Too bad I had some ideas that might really improve this country. Including stricter regulations on the firearms trade.
sorry but according to rastadogg5 we are all fucked sorry there is literally nothing we can do
The point I'm trying to make is that if you ban things that kills people, they'll just find another thing to kill people with. I apologize for your lack of comprehension.
you're not gonna find anything that makes it as easy to kill a theater full of people than guns (legally i mean)
What defines an assault weapon? Can I own an assault stick? Assault rock? Assault shoe?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon
people in the audience could have had a means to defend themselves had assault rifles been legal
yeah because i'm sure so many people would bring a ak-47 to a movie premier
so saying that criminals would have guns anyway is irrelevant, this guy wasn't a criminal, he didn't get his weapons through illegal means and had no criminal ties whatsoever.
I'd like to point out that no one is a criminal until they have done something illegal.
Too bad I had some ideas that might really improve this country. Including stricter regulations on the firearms trade. [editline]edit[/editline] apparently my sarcasm was not as obvious as I had intended. I gave a ridiculous answer to a ridiculous scenario.
so then, minus the sarcasm that was completely unnecessary and just served to ignore the fucking point, what is your answer
you're not gonna find anything that makes it as easy to kill a theater full of people than guns (legally i mean)
Gasoline
Knives are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Swords are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Axes are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Bows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Crossbows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Your point? Should we ban all of those also?
all of those things have the fractional killing capacity of a gun, yo you can unload a gun into a crowd and kill 12 people and injure 58 others. you can unload a crossbow into a crowd and kill like, one. you cant even get a melee weapon into a crowd cuz you gotta get up close, son
please provide evidence of at least one occurrence of a single person armed with any of those killed a bunch of people and injuring shitloads more
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osaka_school_massacre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akihabara_massacre You were saying?
please provide evidence of at least one occurrence of a single person armed with any of those killed a bunch of people and injuring shitloads more
Wasn't there that man in China who attempted to go on a killing spree with a knife and injured many? (again, correct me if I'm wrong I'm basing this off memory)
hksniper you are mad as heck. clam down. nobody here can actually take your guns away.
sorry but according to rastadogg5 we are all fucked sorry there is literally nothing we can do
I did not say that, I said that regardless of the laws, bad things will still happen.
Gasoline
ah yes, i can just imagine the killer now, running into the theater, spreading gasoline all over the place (without a single person attempting to stop him) then setting it alight
Knives are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Swords are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Axes are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Bows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Crossbows are deadly weapons. Designed to kill. Your point? Should we ban all of those also?
No one is talking about banning guns full stop. You are literally arguing against someone who has said this. Read. Also bolded some things you got wrong. Knives and axes were more than likely created for their practical uses, then turned to weapons later. Many practical applications still exist for them however.
Cars are dangerous, ban Motorsport.
cars have uses apart from killing people, unlike handguns and assault weapons
