Everyone should be issued a firearm. There will probably be a rough start with people killing each other, but after that people will stop shooting each other because they will realize that the other person has a gun as well. Criminals are less likely to fuck with someone if they know they have a gun.

If you actually look at the bigger picture, it will stop some people. It won't stop everyone, but a good chunk of people won't do it because we will have made it that much harder to accomplish. You can't stop every attack, but the least you can do is deter it, and prevent even some from occurring. No gun control make the attacks easier to achieve. Why do you want that? Why not try to dwindle it, even a little? In terms of human lives, even saving a little is a big difference.
