Ban guns, then legitimate gun owners can't protect themselves from people who obtain fire arms illegally as is. Sure, some stricter laws/screening would be nice, but don't out-right ban guns. That would just be stupid and work against a lot of people. That and banning AR's because of this shooting doesn't make sense. He was in a crowded movie theater with a 12g shotgun, that's going to do just as much damage as an semi-auto AR. If anything, MORE people need to carry weapons with them to prevent situations like this. Had anyone in that crowd been armed other than the shooter, they could have stopped him. Between all the confusion, the shooter wouldn't have been able to spot someone pointing a gun at him.
