Democrats cling onto the Senate by not much while GOP dominates the House. Prop 19 fails.

Sure, but historically, and even as recent as just a decade ago, you can tell it's not true. If it was true, it would happen on a wide scale, as it is, he's more an exception than the rule.
Industrial revolution england turned poor people into impoverished people. Reaganomics created the biggest distance between the rich and poor imaginable at the time, deregulation has done nothing but make that worse. A well maintained market is going to allow people to move up or down. Nothing is stopping that.
Who said I was poor? I said I was born into the lower class that doesn't mean I'm still there.
No system of economy has more benefited the overall well being of the poor than capitalism.
are you joking or something, you can think whatever you want about capitalism but you have to know it wasnt made to help the poor if you ever were poor you would know that

Him becoming not poor could be proof that Capitalism helps poor people :v:

Oh yes because the poor were so much worse off in the 80's than they were under Carter, not.
And if I'm wrong prove me wrong because I can show you unemployment statistics.
There is no rule about rising through social classes.
Anyone can rise with determination, and hard work.
Anyone who denies this is lazy, ignorant, or does not want to accept the facts in front of them.

I'm not sure what part of what I said you're trying to argue against, so let me just say again, your rise from "poor" to "not poor" isn't due to capitalism.
are you joking or something, you can think whatever you want about capitalism but you have to know it wasnt made to help the poor if you ever were poor you would know that
I almost guarantee you my family was more poverty stricken than you ever have been.
Nothing is more fundamental to my strong belief in capitalism than my experience in the lower class around the people of the lower class.

Except the people who, you know, can't.

not being poor just means he stopped being poor, even if capitalism didnt make the poor poorer it doesnt help them as much as socialism

And you know this how?
Do you think my family signed a pact with the devil that gave us the prosperity we now have?

you have no idea what your talking about do you, in fact most of the people that work the hardest get paid the least.
here are esxamples of how being poor makes you poorer
bad environment raising
drugs, or any other addiction
when my moms car broke down i had to miss a lot of school
people who have more money can go to a better college
rich people can make money off of having money with the bank or other ways
having a small amount of money in the bank will cause them giving fees
these took my like a minute to think of
Except the people who, you know, can't.
Anyone can..
I believe this % 100

Name me one person who puts in a twelve hour day with the amount of stress and time away from home an accomplished businessman does.
And worked just as hard to be in the position they are in now.
Then what was it due to?
Hard work. If it was a true capitalistic society, he wouldn't have gotten this far.

Mostly because you don't live in a truly free market, it's fucking impossible for it to be the market that got you there. No, it was hard work. Something that even communistic and socialist systems reward.

if your image of a typical banker is someone who puts his nose to the grinder then I have a lot of surprises for you...

How can you say this when you still don't understand how fucking polling science works?
if your image of a typical banker is someone who puts his nose to the grinder then I have a lot of surprises for you...
You'd be surprised there is a lot of stress involved in that job.

Well if you believe it it must be true!

A crippled person can make it out from being poor? A poor person with no education? A poor person with a serious problem? YEAH! THEY CAN DO IT TOO!
Oh, and hard workers? Lawyers, doctors, tradesmen, good teachers, oh, i don't know, just about anyone who does their job really fucking well.

have you ever worked in a retirement home, unlike the rich people which most spend a lot of time not working, people in a retirement home you have to clean the shit out of people and if you dont do it fast enough you will be fired.
How can you say this when you still don't understand how fucking polling science works?
I understand how it works I just don't believe a political poll conducted over a telephone likely across only a few states is representative of an entire nations voting population.

Hospital janitor is probably the most underpaid job on the planet.

Then you don't understand how polls work, plain and simple.
Everybody who works in every trade, ever.
Have you ever been in a management position?
Do you honestly think that a laborer has as much work related stress as their overseers?

Awesome let's conduct our next election over the telephone to whoever some polling institute chooses to call.

Don't all those people cept teachers get paid quite a lot?
I understand how it works I just don't believe a political poll conducted over a telephone likely across only a few states is representative of an entire nations voting population.
"I understand that the whole point of polling is to represent the opinions of a large number of people by asking a smaller number of people, but I don't trust it because."
Have you ever been in a management position?

you know that once you get a certain amount of money you can put all your money in the bank and use the 5% interest thing.
not to mention a poor person has way more stress any day because if they cant find the money in time they will become homeless or as much as a gang member who has to make sure he doesnt get shot at
have you ever worked in a retirement home, unlike the rich people which most spend a lot of time not working.
Outside of the ultra rich retired a lot of rich people work just as long if not longer than the common folk.
Awesome let's conduct our next election over the telephone to whoever some polling institute chooses to call.
Because that's how polling works.
See, you don't know how polling works.
"I understand that the whole point of polling is to represent the opinions of a large number of people by asking a smaller number of people, but I don't trust it because."
I didn't like how they conducted that one poll. I don't even understand why we are arguing about this.
Who gives a fuck give me a break.
Do you honestly think that a laborer has as much work related stress as their overseers?
Yes, absolutely. The labourer has to make the foreman look good, who has to make the supervisor look good, who has to make the manager look good, who has to make the CEO look good. The labourer affects perhaps hundreds of people, the CEO looks out for themselves and gets paid to pretend to be in charge. They wouldn't have a job were it not for everybody under them. The labourer practically does all the work that he takes credit for.
Awesome let's conduct our next election over the telephone to whoever some polling institute chooses to call.
It would work. Polls predicting the outcomes of this recent election were spot-on.
I didn't like how they conducted that one poll. I don't even understand why we are arguing about this.
Who gives a fuck give me a break.
why are you asking me questions god can't you just not challenge me you're so mean god
Because that's how polling works.
See, you don't know how polling works.
Except that the poll you are arguing for is conducted by a private institution either by who they choose to ask to participate or those that want to participate.
