Lying, backstabbing bitch. "I do not support the Iraq war however I continue to pass bills to support funding."
My favorite horrifying line will always be, "You have to pass it in order to find out what's in it."
I don't understand what's the point in legalizing it. The people who smoke illegally now will *most likely* continue to smoke illegally because it is cheaper without the tax. The people who don't smoke will *most likely* continue to not smoke. Please note that while I'm stereotyping somewhat, I added "*most likely*" to show that there are exceptions to both. Yet, I feel that these exceptions would HARDLY make a dent in state revenue.
The first and last points I agree with entirely, but if you know much of anything about the free market economy and economics in general, you'd most likely recant that part of the statement.
So you don't think there should be any restrictions at all, and that all redistribution of wealth is wrong? Or are we misunderstanding each other?
Can we have these legalization of pot props in other states? California isn't responsible enough to handle serious shit like this.
It is a big loss. It's a big loss of tax revenue, and it's a big loss for rights movements. But who cares right? pot kills, right? [editline]2nd November 2010[/editline] Oh, and the drug war costs billions a year, trillions since it's inception. You want to keep that around? Yeah, THAT'S HELPING THE ECONOMY.
Lol oh yeah HUGE DEVASTATING LOSS OF TAX REVENUE. If it was going to make such a large change, the government would jump on it as soon as possible.
Fuck. :frown:
The Constitution doesn't say shit about religion
Actually, it does. Hell, I don't even live in America and I know that.
Finally, no more super majority and the Republicans have the house. Seeing as now the two parties are now forced to cooperate to pass anything, I think this is a good sign.
Finally, no more super majority and the Republicans have the house. Seeing as now the two parties are now forced to cooperate to pass anything, I think this is a good sign.
The balance of power has been restored.
So you don't think there should be any restrictions at all, and that all redistribution of wealth is wrong? Or are we misunderstanding each other?
You need to be more specific on what you are pointing at for restrictions because you may be confusing free market with free enterprise. As far as redistribution, I do believe that at the very least the income gap needs to be dramatically reduced and that the overall income of the majority of the population needs to be increased, but I don't believe in taking it to the extreme of absolutely equalizing all income by law.

You tax them enough and they may even eventually leave the country. I was going to vote for Prop 19, but I sent in my registration on the day of the deadline, after USPS does their final mail pick up for the day.
Well, shit.
More proof the American majority population are brainless and stupid.
So you're for completely going against the Constitution, then.
congratulations, I rated you tool [editline]3rd November 2010[/editline]
The first and last points I agree with entirely, but if you know much of anything about the free market economy and economics in general, you'd most likely recant that part of the statement.
republicans support it, Capitalism doesn't work welp, lets go home.
Well on the bright side at least that idiot O'Donnell didn't get elected I guess you could say....she got Tea-Bagged And as for prop 19...fuck Cali...same idiots that brought you that video game violence bill
More proof the American majority population are brainless and stupid.
When the majority vote to how you like, they're brilliant.
When it all drags down to it... I'm happy Pelosi is out. You've quote mined the hell out of it and you still got her point wrong
Oh great. Democrat senate and a republican house. Now everyone is going to cockblock everything from the other party. EDIT: Though on the upside, both sides are retarded. So while no progress will be made, at least they can't do much damage. EDIT2: Famous last words.

She can't end the war. Only thing she can do is fuck it up further So the alternative is to let them die out? “We will not cut off funding for the troops,” Pelosi said. “Absolutely not,” she said. “None of us want to fail; none of us want to see Iraq as a failure,” said incoming Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland. “Let me remove all doubt in anyone’s mind; as long as our troops are in harm’s way, Democrats will be there to support them, but… we will have oversight over that funding,” she said.
I'm actually not to unhappy about the rise of the Republicans. These new Tea Party guys will cause conflict within the party, they also might do some good when it comes to cutting spending, and the obvious failure of both parties 2 years from now might help the rise of a much needed third party (preferably libertarian) [editline]3rd November 2010[/editline] also prop 19 was a very restrictive legalization proposition, some stoners I know even argue that how we have it now with pot possession and smoking being an infraction with $100 fine without a card is almost better. [editline]3rd November 2010[/editline] then again almost all the stoners I know are in between 14 and 20 so it wouldn't be very helpful to them.
Actually, it does. Hell, I don't even live in America and I know that.
All it says is that the government should stay the fuck away from it.
Prop 19 fails and the GOP takes control of the House while losing the senate by a bit. Fuck :(
Yeah, because we want the democrats to continue pouring what's left of us down the drain, right? Do you have a brain, son? I'm beginning to think not. How you could ever think the democrats did us any favors after the last election is a mystery.
Buck up boys, the next 2 years are gonna be rough :clint:
