I wish we had deer poachers here
they're literally everywhere and make a hobby of jumping in front of cars
fuck deer
Your city probably needs to arrange a culling, then. You could go to the rep for whatever community you live in and speak to them about it - a letter or something. If you're that worried about it, I mean.
Hunting is often good for wildlife populations and is encouraged in many places to maintain healthy population levels. Poaching on the other hand is really bad for animal populations and hurts the hunters in the long run as well.
People should realize that hunting regulations are not made up by tree hugging hippies who what to stop people from having fun, they are made by well trained biologists/ecologists/wildlife experts who know what they are doing. If you dont regulate hunting or the regulations are not enforced everyone suffers.

can i join???
I'm completely against the poaching of protected species; however, deer and the like are ridiculously expendable--and for good reason too. During the hunting seasons the population of deer swells quite a bit so the hunters help keep the population under control. If not it could really disrupt the ecosystem as well as cause a ton of problems for our infrastructure and safety. For example, if the deer population is not controlled then you would almost expect the amount of deer related automobile accidents to jump quite a bit.

Flying squirrels did it. They're rising against us. The end is nigh.

poaching is, by definition, illegal. and no, deer are not expendable. yes we have policies in place to help control their population, partially because we have done a lot to endanger species that naturally prey on deer, but also because we provide easy alternative food for their natural predators as well. for example gray wolves, who have been hunted down for a long time. they also tend to eat garbage and livestock because those are easy sources of food compared to taking down a moose or deer.
if we eliminate too many deer it causes ecological problems just like not killing enough deer. frankly, i think instead of killing deer we should be promoting wolf populations to rise and make it harder for them to live off humans.

There used to be thousands of buffalo.
What happened to them?
Wait Waterloo Ontario? I live close-ish and I hadn't heard of this. This is massively fucked up.
No.
Just what is their problem, seriously? point out that something happens to be a crime to somebody then suddenly a deer's head winds up on your doorstep? who do these poachers they think they are, the N'Drangheta?
I googled that expecting some alien race from a science fiction series or video game
Apostrophes instantly make everything more menacing
I'd like to see them hunt Bengal Tigers and find it easy, especially the ones in the Sunderbans. Those ones actually like to attack humans. Here's one attack at Kaziranga.

It's different when you poach deer and the like. With animals like tigers, especially Bengal tigers, you fuck up and you're done.
I don't think isolated attacks warrants the cause to go kill endangered animals.
