2 gigabytes, how quickly will an average phone user burn through that wathcing videos on YouTube?
I used to have the 2GB plan because I missed being grandfathered in by a week. I streamed Pandora music twice a day for around 2 hours each, and just those 4 hours a day sucked up so much bandwidth. In about a week 2GB was gone. I can only imagine streaming video.. Then I switched to a lower data plan to save money. I just bought all my music and just listen to it on my phone. I hear a lot of people going "lol ATT sucks" and a lot of people going "bitch att 4 lyfe". Personally, I don't mind them but some of their plans and pricing are rubbish. Getting rid of the unlimited everything was a poor move. The only reason I haven't switched to Verizon is because their coverage in my area is shit. Oh well.
I'd rather my phone camera take well-focused pictures in 800x600 rather than ultra high-res pixel sludge fields.
I dunno about you guys but I have a 2gb cap for my iphone and it suits me just fine, and I always go on the internet and watch videos on the road and shit
HTC sensation here I use mine for downloading NZB files :D Unlimited data god help me if it wasnt.
damn im tired of phones
I love how the focus in the cellular world is finally beginning to shift away from Apple and iOS and towards Android and even Windows phones to some degree.
iPhones were pretty great when they first came out, and really (you'll probably be mad at me for saying this, or call me wrong) pioneered smart phones to a degree. I think they really sparked interest in smart phone business. As nice as the iPhone was, I want to get a new phone (because iOS is getting shittier by the update,) and am looking at one of the Windows Phones. HOWEVER, My fucking contract won't let me get a new phone till May 2013 without paying stupid amounts of money.
I don't understand how large MP is even a selling point in phones or point and click cameras. your pictures will still look like shit, only now they're bigger so they take up more storage space and take longer to process
The truth is that customers buy into this shit. More than once I've heard people saying "wow, this phone is amazing it has a 270 megapixel camera!!!"
A 16 megapixel camera seems extremely excessive. But I suppose to most people, the bigger the number, the better.
Higher resolution on modern sensors will actually degrade the image quality with excess noise. People who doesn't know anything about photography and cameras tends to believe higher the MP count = better image quality.
if you think about it, the more android and windows phones they pump out, the more legit the iPhone looks to the average consumer. I hope you guys understand what i'm trying to say
if you think about it, the more android and windows phones they pump out, the more legit the iPhone looks to the average consumer. I hope you guys understand what i'm trying to say
Yes I understand
I hate how apple releases a new phone every year, what we need are 6 android phones that are exactly the same.
MIPS has the right of it. That's 16 megapixels, but with shitty optics and a tiny sensor. Pictures aren't really going to look any different from any other phone.
That's always one thing to watch out for, though I don't think they've said anything about the lens yet
says I could eat a webcam and shit out a better sensor than the one that's going to be in that camera.
my phone has a 2 megapixel camera
I'm more interested in the Sony Xperia than anything else .
Fucking HTC, how about fixing all the fucking connection problems you have with your current phones instead of spewing out 3 new models a week? I'm sick and tired of taking shit at work just because you can't make cellphones that work

I remember doing internship a year ago, the work phones wouldn't work if a nearby door wasn't open while my own phone had full bars. Just because I had a different carrier.
If the camera's done the right way (the Nokia N8 way), it'll be great. WP7 is pretty damn fucking great, adn while it may not be customizable, I don't see much you'd want to customize anyway. Sure, there's som things that are flat-out stupid, uncustomizable colour scheme (preset colours), and the fact that you'll either have to do a manual workaround, or download an app to set your own ringtone. I'm sure that'll get fixed/changed, though, and even if it won't, it doesn't bother me much. I just like that I can buy a pretty cheap phone, and know that it'll perform pretty much the same as the expensive guys. [editline]10th January 2012[/editline]
480x800 over a 4.7 inch screen? Lol. [editline]9th January 2012[/editline] Next they will tell us it's a PenTile screen too
Sorry, but you're being a bit of a dumbass. Yeah, it's not an especially high resolution, but it's still a pixel density of ~199PPI. The very widely used iPhone 3GS (that I know that you've have loved and defended) is "only" 165PPI. Of course it's a much cheaper phone, but I don't see many people complaining about the density of the pixels. I've held the Titan in my hand, and I can confirm that the screen is nice and crisp, even though it might not be ~325PPI, as your so dearly loved iPhone 4. [editline]10th January 2012[/editline] And a bit of research that it seems like you didn't bother to do, reveals that it's RGB.

I'm actually surprised Windows Phone is gaining ground. I have nothing against it, but I've noticed a lot of people in the tech world just seem to automatically dismiss it.
2 gigabytes, how quickly will an average phone user burn through that wathcing videos on YouTube?
Well how big are youtube videos? [editline]10th January 2012[/editline] Why doesn't HTC just make a flagship and stick with it, revising it, just like the iPhone.
ATT on 4G? HA! With their 2Gb Limit...
4G isn't even supported in most places. I got the Galaxy Nexus on Verzion, and for a special they brought it up to a 4GB limit. I get mostly 3G where I live, but in certain places such as the mall and Boston (I live in MA) the 4G is there, and it's really fast.

But 4G is supported everywhere here, so I normally don't have to worry about that.
Phone battery life of 13 minutes on power save mode.
