More like hate and discrimination against white people
lmao
Is this a bad thing?
If I were a backwater conservative/crazy fool I might spew random shit about them damned Asians taking my engineering degrees or some shit. But as a rational individual I would say there is not enough evidence to determine what the effect may be.
More like hate and discrimination against white people
Perhaps the only place this would possibly apply is if you were surrounded by several hundred black supremacists. That is not the case in the USA though.
Asian invasion.
The good kind of Asian invasion this time. Not surprising really, as the article said we are moving more towards technology instead of manufacturing. I know it a stereotype, but Asians do go more towards tech than hard labor than most other races.
I think it's somewhat weird or alarming that Asians are so readily accepted in media today. You're seeing far more and more of them on commercials, movies and TV shows. It would be safe to assume that they want us to be integrated into American mainstream society. Ever watched a commercial selling something or promoting a service and it seems really hard to convince people it is worth the money? Wait a few seconds and there will be a quick shot of a person of Asian descent agreeing with some no-face plebian. There's always a scene where an Asian would be in a role where they would be giving advice to someone. It's like, yes you know the stereotype. So here's a product with someone smart telling you its a smart idea to buy it
It's hard for us to really get away from that stereotype, because basically a lot of these advertisers and what have you like to capitalize on the idea that we're smart, productive and generally run on more work-efficient values than your average white guy, so therefore it's expert-approved or something. The new Hyundai Sonata 2025. 4-Wheel Drive, Asian Approved and Road certified. Don't even get me started on how typecast Asians get in movies, though. Also, more on topic with the thread, East Asian immigration has always been fairly high, but the amount of South Asians (India, Pakistan, etc.) have definitely increased. I work at a Kumon Math and Reading center, and the majority of our students are children of Indian immigrants who are trying to get ahead, which goes to show you that there are really a lot of them as a whole, even here in Kentucky and Ohio. As far as I can tell, a large number of these parents work in the IT, physics or engineering fields. Now, that's not a huge surprise as there's a lot of any group that does that in this day and age, but India is a very populated country. So populated, in fact, that the Indian Institutes of Technology (India's premier universities with programs rated equal, or even exceeding that of your famous ones like MIT) have an acceptance rating of 1 in 50, because generally speaking, Indian primary and secondary education is much more accelerated from the get-go and there are so many students that would normally qualify. So, you can't get a job in your home country, or you can't get the education for it. Where do you go that needs a lot of people working in the IT industry? The United States or pretty much anywhere but India or China. So now you have thousands, and thousands of fairly skilled or studious Indians emigrating to the United States, where they likely find the jobs they're looking for, or the education they need (India has a case of reverse brain drain, where not only do a lot of the highly educated leave the country, many of them go elsewhere to be educated because of too much competition and then come back later on). There's a documentary I saw once called One Million Minutes, which compares what it takes to get into university in the United States, India and China, and it's also very good on highlighting why many immigrate to the US. Edit: Or Canada. Canada (or is it just Toronto? I can't remember) currently has one of the highest concentration of South Asians outside of their home region.
Good, Asian guys are hot.
bring it on
okay you're skilled and different from me stop being skilled and different from me
too bad that this will probably bring increased hate and discrimination against asians too :<
Welcome to Australia half a decade ago.
