Travelodge removes bibles from every room in their 500 hotels

That feels like a lacking comparison. A poster is designed for advertisment. You usually can't choose when you want to see it, and there's no adblock in real life. While a book just lies there, you can put it aside, move it around, or not touch it at all.
They should put another L in their name so it isn't Trave Lodge or Travel Odge
Now where am I going to scribble the wifi password that the front desk lady tells me?
DEY TUUK ER RELIGUN!
Because the bibles in the drawers were just cramming themselves down your throat, right?
I don't think I've ever tasted this flavor of irony before
also yeah find another report soon or I'm closing this for dailymail antimuslim garbage
Replace them with a quran and embrace the shitstorm
Some men just want to see the world burn
Can we just ban dailymail from SH
the articles are shit and it's just the most linkbaity site
Hotels can have or not have whatever books they want. I couldn't care less.
Fuck putting books there, people can bring their own, where are the consoles and netflix?
you mean like those consoles that charge you like $5 to rent a N64 game like some hotels have?
Fuck putting books there, people can bring their own, where are the consoles and netflix?
Don't even need a book. Just use your smartphone.
Might as well get rid of them, we're not so much of a religious country anymore anyway
The only source for this is the Daily Mail, and they posted this less than two hours ago. I can't find any independent reporting on this.
probably because no half decent reporter would even bother covering this story
You've got to be a euphoric Reddit tier Atheist to complain about this, I mean seriously who gives a shit.
Or how about we don't force religion on people in private businesses?
You can be in support of this without being a neckbeard-touting reddit atheist you know.

Nahh, you have to throw in the neckbeard atheist, especially because the only people to ever complain about Christianity are atheists.
Also, let's forget the part where the church complains about the bibles being removed and nobody complaining about them being there.
Who needs to read the article to discuss it anyway?

What about muslims that stay there and there's no Quran?
Now what am i gonna read when i am taking a crap?
They haven't made a press release concerning this. So it's not true.
I think DM articles should be allowed because they're funny but require it to be mentioned in the title :v:

Some towns around where I live had to remove most of their christmas decorations and cancel a lot of christmas related events meant for children because of pressure from idiots who either claimed it wasn't secular or that it was too Christian and that it offended them because they were Jewish or Muslim.
People complain about the fucking dumbest shit.
What am i supposed to hang my fedora on now?
People complain about shit too much, why doesn't everyone just chill and stop caring about everything?

Seriously what is with the influx of people on Facepunch going "who cares it doesn't affect me stop caring lol"
If nobody cared about anything we wouldn't have evolved as a species and you'd still be living in a mud hut.
Preventing the monopoly of one religion in a multicultural society is a good thing. It is also a good thing for religion to be becoming less entwined with business and politics.
wow that's really inconvenient now what will i use to roll my blunts

it's not really "progress" though, and it's not really "preventing" anything.
it's just a sign of the times. why put bibles in hotel rooms when no one cares about them.

The fact that they've taken the effort to remove the Bibles from the rooms in the first place shows that Travel Lodge is taking a stance on this case. Gideons supply the Bibles free of charge, so it isn't even an expense to the company.
How is providing a holy bible in each room insult one that follows another religion? This sounds like the visitors go into the room, spot the bible, jump on the ceiling and hiss at it (I am aware the article states that there were no complaints. This is my bad joke detox session.).
Imagine a typical southern christian seeing a Quran in the room.

Most of the ones I know would be confused as to what it is, and then they would go 'oh' and put it back.

By having the bible there, nobody's really telling you to join them. It's just there. If anything it's more like having a poster that says "Christianity exists".
[editline]asdf[/editline]
Although I think they'd be better off without them anyway. It's entirely pointless having them there.
Hotels seem to be able to get any newspaper in the world for you upon request so there's no reason people can't just request religious texts if they want them too.
