Are you kidding me? Have you seen our trains!? They're top notch! The fact that is from a company without data caps means that there's absolutely no fucking reason ISPs shouldn't be installing fiber optics everywhere. Because obviously cost isn't an issue.
Greed is.
I already ate up 50GB on my Comcast cap thanks to the Steam sale.
Oh wow. 150 GB is nothing.
Pfttt, I use more than that when I pass my 45gb allowance. Seriously I was talking to my ISP on the phone and they were fucking amazed.
Fuck caps. Holding back our technology.
Pfttt, I use more than that when I pass my 45gb allowance. Seriously I was talking to my ISP on the phone and they were fucking amazed.
Shit 45 gb? That's like a couple of movies and at best 1 new release.
shit sucks when at&t is the best in my area FOIS WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
You should all go for Verizon.
man that really sucks for you guys, America is going to be a 3rd world country in a few years, you guys seem to have hit a point where now your tech is going backwards and your freedoms are getting taken away one by one, at least we get moderately decient internet over here uncapped, but crappy upload speeds, I can only get 4.5MB up >:(

At least that's better than dial-up.

I would love to have your internet.
Kinda late, but it still sucks ass. They'd rather stick with outdated infrastructure, overcharge customers, throttle traffic, and pocket obscene amounts of money instead of upgrading to handle traffic. And as a bonus, they get to kill Netflix and anyone else that threatens to make equally overpriced cable service obsolete. This is what happens when you can count ISPs on one hand, and they also happen to be your cable and phone company.
I wonder if i can take up with the BBB that AT&T has an effective monopoly where i live, they're pretty much the only provider here.
I wonder if i can take up with the BBB that AT&T has an effective monopoly where i live, they're pretty much the only provider here.
BBB really can't do much to companies that big.
The one thing we did better than Canada was not have capped internet. This is not good.
I live in Minnesota (USA) and my internet is 6Mb Down
I get 200k down :( and I pay 40$ a months because of a stupid contract.
Oh wow. 150 GB is nothing.
The highest my internet provider offers me is 10 GB a month, and once thats gone, im on dial-up speed all month.
Hey guys, why don't we just start a internet provider, tout no caps and high speeds for low prices, then wait for Comcast, AT&T and all those other big ones to offer us a large amount of cash to fuck off? [editline]16th July 2011[/editline]
That's Europe's internet infrastructure is the best in the world. We have extremely fast internet with no data cap at really low prices.
Most of Europe has a damn good internet infrastructure, but not all of it. Italy, Spain and Greece come to mind. I know people in Italy that don't even have access to ADSL and are stuck on 56k.
Actually the isp behemoths that you're going to be competing against will find any way to shut you down or buy you out.
That wouldn't be bad, would it?
COX Cable, fuck yes. This is what you get for buying internet from a phone company.
I'm about 1.5 miles too far to get COX cable, and thus, I get stuck with Mediacom. The ONLY good thing about Mediacom is that there is no bandwidth cap. But they are extremely money hungry so I won't be surprised when they do start. I pay $200 ish a month, it's never the same. last month it was $220. And we had this service interruption earlier in the week so they're giving everyone 99 cents off on any PayPerView movie, OH JOY! No thanks, I'll just stick with Netflix, besides, I've ordered movies from Mediacom and it charges me 3 and 4 times
you need to learn to appreciate what you have
I have 100/100 :p
I have 100/100 :p
In canada?
Companies really need to be more socially responsible. It's disgusting knowing that people had a meeting over this garbage and came out thinking it was brilliant.
In canada?
yes
All of you guys are complaining for nothing. Australia has it much worse. If it's not a cap it's 50c/mb over the limit on very expensive plans. Lets not forget the amount of tax on each bill either.
I live in Minnesota (USA) and my internet is 6Mb Down, and 500K Up. I would love to have your internet.
I would love to have yours.
At least that's better than dial-up.
Don't worry, it won't take too long until "our customers wanted dial up back"
Why the fuck is the antitrust act being used on the american telecom giants. It is remarkable that in the "land of the free" people do not do anything about one or two companies taking over 90% of all telecommuniciations in the country.

Please.
