also, lol "most dangerous laser ever created"
When I was an arc welder we would use 300w infrared argon lasers which could boil steel, this is nothing- I think they mean "most powerful handheld laser"
Dat fokken laser, like a super villains wet dream.

anyone who buys one deserves to get burned by it if your that dumb.
This is potentially more dangerous than a gun. It's silent and does not leave a trace that can be analysed to find the owner.
These will cause a shitstorm.
Even it you look at the laser being refracted on a wall you can be blinded. This is fucking suicidal.
Before anyone says these would be banned in Australia, we can only have shitty low power lasers anyway.
This is fucking ridiculous that this company extract diodes from projectors. Why can't they buy their diodes directly ?
Remind me to NEVER go outside again. I hope these never get past Aussie customs
This is the reason I'm glad we have a limit on lasers we can own in the UK. I'm seriously worried about lasers, my eyesight is bad enough already. Most people don't take it seriously how dangerous lasers can be, I mean hell.
That doesn't make sense. You wrote all that, but you just ment to say "hell" when you could of just removed it all and wrote "hell".

It's dangerous because it's handheld. Presumably your argon laser was positioned and used with great care, much like any high power cutting tool. This is something anyone can wave around like an idiot.

This really should qualify as a weapon, and be restricted as such.

This is not a weapon. You can't really defend yourself from an agression with it. And it's very dangerous for the user. It should be completely banned. Guns are fine but this thing is much easiser to use in a stupid way.
Holy mother of Jesus.
I HAVE to buy this.
I bought one. Am waiting for it to arrive.
Don't use it without protection. You can go blind by just looking at it being pointed on an object.

The irradiance is high enough that if the light hits your skin for even a minuscule period of time you are pretty likely to get cancer.
Half of Facepunch wants to buy it, the other half wants to destroy it.
I'm on the destroy side.

The half that wants to buy it will use it to get rid of the other half :v:
This doesn't remotely resemble a lightsabre in function,
They just put a dangerously powerful laser in a cheap housing.
I'm going to buy one of those, and one of these so I don't kill myself with it.

Go to a busy highway and start aiming it at drivers.
This thing is fucking dangerous.
I'm still not sure if I want it destroyed or delivered to my door. I mean, sheesh, cancer? Literally burning someone's flesh? These things are only a step below a gun, and a hell of a lot more accessible.
I'm still curious about lightsabers, though, but this is not a lightsaber. It is a laser. That means it has infinite range, doesn't collide with other lasers, can take down aircraft, can bounce off smooth surfaces, and even the smallest brush can leave you with a life-threatening disease. The Jedi could never do that shit.
It's becoming obvious, the further technology develops, that sci-fi seems to have aimed either a bit low or perilously high; 2001: A Space Odessey, for instance, said we would have shuttle travel for the average businessman, which was wrong, but it also said we would have video communications, which was right, except that we can now do it with a device the size of a matchbox, not a massive clunky TV in a custom built booth.
It comes with free saftey goggles.
It comes with free saftey goggles.
Won't help much if it gives you cancer :v:
what the fuck
destroy that thing before it destroys us.
Remind me to NEVER go outside again. I hope these never get past Aussie customs
An incandescent bulb could not get through Aussie customs, we have nothing to fear.
It comes with free saftey goggles.
That wont save people from idiots waving it around.
Ban this shit. I don't want to go blind.

Perfect, now we need clothes covered in mirrors.
Lasers are becoming more and more powerful, in the end it'll be illegal to point it downwards or it'll cut the earth in half.
Where do I preorder?
FYI it's spelled Lightsaber because it's a proper noun.
Yes I am bringing up this argument.
