this is standard cold war tactics. who cares?
They were hired by Devon cream tea society to bomb the cornish pastry factories
my pastries rock tbh why would you bomb them
this is standard cold war tactics. who cares?
its a bit different since russia is actively invading another country right now
GCHQ Bude, several transatlantic cable landings, RAF St Mawgan, RNAS Culdrose, I may of missed some too.
You are indeed right, sir.
"We have no compass. Only Dimitri."
They have compasses, it's just that those compasses were made back in Soviet Russia. They probably need to be replaced if their planes are ending up farther away from home....
Probably never.
We used to do it a whole lot. Hell we'd violate their airspace back in the 50's, even lost aircraft. They've sent aircraft to intercept our aircraft in somewhat similar flights. We fly some spy planes close, although their intercepts seem more aggressive. Footage of the incident from inside the TU-95 They can't really do much more besides fly up and warn them off. It'd be interesting to see what the Russians intend to do by not deploying anything other than a drone intended to track them. If they veer off near the boundary without interception, then they were going to whether they are intercepted or not. As it is the Western European nations are like a dog in the yard convinced that it is his barking driving the mail man away each day.

I also like how the Typhoons kept showing off their belly with all the juicy ordnance.

Russia tests a lot of countries like this. It's e-peen with a bit of intelligence gathering. They poke around in the Canadian North all the time and we have to send them off with frigates and fighters.

The RAF's job it protect UK airspace (or, more specifically, "defend the UK and its interests"). Do you expect them to just sit on the ground, working off the assumption that the foreign aircraft won't violate UK airspace? Besides, it provides good interception training.
