If you're a mother, and you know you've caused the death of your kid by being a bad parent, are you going to shout that from the rooftops? Of course not. You're going to say the suicide was an accident, and avoid placing blame on anyone. Insane would be saying something like "My son died killed himself because he was a fag, may he rot in hell." or something similar. It wouldn't be trying to hide the cause of death, but taking some perverted pride in it. It could also be argued that, should you have really conservative Christian friends, saying that your kid is transgender and accepting that on Facebook could introduce a lot of grief and hatred from the less than savory types, which they might be trying to avoid. I'm not so sure this post was malicious as much as it was a grieving family trying to understand what's happened. Then again, I'm not a Facebook psychologist. These could be the worst people ever, but I'm just not seeing that. Horribly inconsiderate and controlling, sure, but I don't think they're just absolute evil. People are afraid of what they don't understand, that's nothing new.

i wonder what would happen if tumblr somehow managed to start commenting on that post and ruining her reputation. i'm sure someone is going to try it.

I doubt she knows how to handle this or think rationally about it, her child died yesterday.

Getting shit therapy is worse than no therapy at all. I dint want to turn this thread into shit about me but had an awful in-training therapist that took 6 months to see. In a situation like this it's probably easier for her to take the opportunity of her daughter being gone to pretend that she was always a good parent, since the only person who'd say otherwise isn't going to say anything more. It's beyond fucking sick on her part, but it was the easier conclusion for her to come to.

Her parents don't realize that THEY were the cause of their own child's death, or at least, try their best at hiding it. I'd see it as unintentional murder. Having highly religious parents without a sense of understanding does this.

I saw the note maybe an hour before it became a news story and it honestly broke my heart, especially when seeing the parents reaction and continue to be the problem that caused this I'm really happy to see most people who have never met her using the correct name and pronouns, even if her parents and a few bad apples aren't
