If they're medical facts, how can you get banned unless you attempt to offend people?

Serious question.[/QUOTE] do you get the fucking point of medical treatments for mental conditions the primary goal of medical treatment is to relieve symptoms. Almost never is attacking the root cause the best way to do that with mental conditions. An example of where it is necessary is dieting and exercise and not smoking, but there is NO corollary to the brain. There is very little you can do to fucking fix the brain structures. And even if you could, there's many convincing arguments it'd be flat out wrong to fix the brain when you could just adjust the body to fit. Read my posts on the previous page. Fixing the brain without the person's consent when it has a minor problem is a slippery slope that I do not think we should tread down.

The thing that makes me the most frustrated and depressed in this whole situation is that their parents almost certainly don't feel any kind of guilt at all. They were probably glad to be rid of her. I just wish I could have talked to her.

For instance, it's good to have hormonal therapy, transitioning, etc to help people with body dysphoria cope and lead a healthy and happy life. However, it's even better to have a preventative in the first place, because then people wouldn't have to spend years suffering through a medical condition that we can control. It's better to have a vaccine for smallpox than a cure, because you can prevent the ailment in the first place.

In all honesty I don't think I would be able to feel the same way for my child if they were transgender, I can handle gay/lesbian but I dunno, transgender is just too much for me. Not to say I would disown them or anything, I would be accepting but... I don't know, it wouldn't be the same. But what they did to he/she was fucked up, I could never do that to my child.
