You pick up the Handmaiden who is also[sp] Kreia's daughter[/sp]
But isn't that just a theory? One with loads of evidence backing it up (including a "oh i like" from the writer), but nonetheless still hasn't been confirmed.
How about we let strong game narratives exist as strong game narratives because a movie would misrepresent the product
Female exile was established as canon when Lucas Arts hated the game so it's not realy a positive.
It was established as canon in the A Guide to Droids-book Mergebreaker Deluxe [editline]24th February 2013[/editline] Also for future reference, all the shit going on for a male exile is canon
It was established as canon in the A Guide to Droids-book Mergebreaker Deluxe [editline]24th February 2013[/editline] Also for future reference, all the shit going on for a male exile is canon
Isn't it not possible to do a canon run of Kotor 2 though since everything that happened to the Male Exile is canon for the Female exile?
The film takes place 44 years before KOTOR, which makes it a prequel to the game; unless if the time given an estimate, then the film is entirely based on the game.
That would put it during the time HK-47 was [sp](I think) first started working as an assassin droid, maybe working for the senator so maybe he'll make a surprise appearance. [/sp]
HK-47 wasn't [sp] built by Revan?[/sp]
Artistic integrity? Are you serious? It's not impossible to write a good story with a woman as the protagonist.
reading comprehension is not your strong suit. read the post I quoted. I never said anything about a female character being a bad thing, the problem was the female character in kotor:TSL was worse, so why is she the canon character? saying that the female character is better solely because females are underrepresented in the scifi genre is compomising the artistic integrity.
Because that's what the writers wanted to be canon, if it makes you feel any better they took a lot of the stuff from the male storyline and made it canon as well.
are you being intentionally ambiguous when you state "the writers" because I can assure you no writers on KOTOR 2 ever said anything was canon.
Whoever's in charge of saying what is canon in SW lore, the exile's been stated as being female in multiple books as well as SWTOR.
yes we all care about canon in a MMO with a bunch of people that had no relation to the source material. The same MMO where a bunch of nobodies fight and kill Revan, one of the most powerful force users ever, in like 2 mins. an MMO that isn't doing so great atm and didn't get much acclaim. I'll wait until Avellone says whether or not the character male or female canonically (he won't but you can tell how fleshed out the male is vs the female which one he believed was canon.)
KOTOR 2 was rushed, it happens practically every time Obsidian is asked to make a game using a third party's IP (See Fallout: NV), if the game was given enough time both characters would have probably been equally fleshed out.
And not to mention more content. It is because of the release pressure that so much stuff like dialogue and plots was cut. I recall that the Onderon plot was the only thing that was 100% complete. Sad.

The Exile from KOTOR 2 is *apparently* supposed to female, but IMO the male story is much better.
The film takes place 44 years before KOTOR, which makes it a prequel to the game; unless if the time given an estimate, then the film is entirely based on the game.
Exar Kun Fuck yes!
I actually completed this game last night, it's amazing. Still, I'm not sure they could make a movie from it. Cramming so much into one film could be disasterous.
Exar Kun Fuck yes!
I remember getting the Exar Kun battle armor for the first time inside his tomb and was all like "oh my god unique fucking loot dude!" but then the Dxun Freedon Nadd tomb happened. I can get excited for even the smallest thing in a game.
Because that's what the writers wanted to be canon, if it makes you feel any better they took a lot of the stuff from the male storyline and made it canon as well.
By "writers" do you mean when Lucas Art's and Bioware acted like children about KotOR 2?
Semi-relevant question: if I were to play the KOTOR games for the first time, should I start with the first? Or just go with the second?
Semi-relevant question: if I were to play the KOTOR games for the first time, should I start with the first? Or just go with the second?
Start with the first as it gives a lot of important backstory to the second, and it's a brilliant game worth playing (even if I think TSL is better). [editline]24th February 2013[/editline] You don't have to though, you can just go with the second at once if you want, but you'll understand more of what's going on if you've played the first.
Not worth seeing unless
HK-47 wasn't [sp] built by Revan?[/sp]
He was heavily modified by him.
If they have it as Episode 1 of the Old Republic being the Mandalorian War, Episode 2 being Revans journey to the dark side, and 3 being his quest back to the light it could be the best story told in film form. Unlike the prequels where Lucas butchered the entire franchise.
And then we have Episode 4 where he is defeated by a bunch of nobodies in an anticlimactic battle [sp]SWTOR[/sp]
Not worth seeing unless
HK-47 didn't become who he is today until Revan modified him, he wouldn't be the same character if they showed him in a KOTOR Prequal. [editline]24th February 2013[/editline]
yes we all care about canon in a MMO with a bunch of people that had no relation to the source material. She was established in a book before either of those existed.

Unlike the prequels where Lucas butchered the entire franchise.
There's actually a guy working on a fan film that edits the games into three films: http://z11.invisionfree.com/KOTOR_Movies/index.php?act=idx The first two parts have been done for a while, the guy's been busy for a while with other things and hasn't finished the project yet. He also desires to remake his first film.
WHAT. i've played that game i don't know how many times now and i NEVER SAW THAT SHIT WHAT

How did I miss this on my many playthroughs?

But isn't that just a theory? One with loads of evidence backing it up (including a "oh i like" from the writer), but nonetheless still hasn't been confirmed.
Behold! I keep the page bookmarked for just this very occasion. http://lparchive.org/Knights-of-the-Old-Republic-II/Update%2058/ imo, KOTOR 2's subtlety is what puts it ahead of KOTOR 1.
Knowles’ last scoop about Yoda being the first character to get a solo Star Wars film has since proven false, and this scoop similarly has nothing official going for it.

I agree, but just talking about kotor 2 here As a male you: Have Atris hating you and going crazy because you chose to fight in the Mandalorian Wars over her. You pick up the Handmaiden who is also[sp] Kreia's daughter[/sp] Darth Sion towards the ending is almost competing with you for Kreia's attention.
Yes, but as a female, the dynamic with Sion is completely changed, as he starts being torn between his hatred for you, and his affection for you. In a way, I find that just as interesting as Sion's behavior towards a male character.

Dude needs to lotion up.
I'd rather have KOTOR 3 than a poorly adapted movie. No way it could represent well the experience of playing the game.
Screenplay by a Bioware writer? Yeeeeeeah, no.
