nice
Haha, it's so nostalgic to remember how I had some LOTR VHS tapes, and I think one of the movies was divided in 2 parts, and we had to quickly change the tapes
And then someone gets their ass kicked because they forgot to rewind the tape after the previous viewing, and now you have to wait the ungodly amount of time for the thing to rewind.
I remember how awesome it was to watch ROTK on the big screen back in 2003. I'd say it's the best cinema experience I've ever had.
Cool I guess. I liked the mayhem taken on to a massive scale in these films. They were pretty epic too.
Ahhh...I remember when I went to see the LoTR exhibition at the Museum of Science in Boston. That shit was the bomb. There was a green screen that you stood in front of holding two foam things as a sword and shield, then on the big screen in front of you it showed one of the characters, so you could be an Orc jerking off or a knight swinging a sword around.
Fuck if I'm going to sit in a theater for 3 1/2 hours.
ffffffffffffffffffuck yes
I haven't seen any of the films yet, worth doing?
I haven't seen any of the films yet, worth doing?
I myself would consider them the best movies I've ever watched, so in my opinion; Yes.
It's to promote the coming blu-ray extended version.
I thought it was to promote the release of "The Hobbit". Which by the way will be shot in GLORIOUS 60 FPS, rather than the traditional annoying and shuttery 24 FPS.
I thought it was to promote the release of "The Hobbit". Which by the way will be shot in GLORIOUS 60 FPS, rather than the traditional annoying and shuttery 24 FPS.
48 FPS *
48 FPS *
feature film in north america is shot in 29 FPS. TV and Film standards are both 29 here.
I've never even heard of AMC Theaters so I guess I won't be seeing this. I already have the extended editions on DVD so it doesn't even matter.
Shit yeah! Been waiting to see myself again on the big screen!
I really am Legolas why don't you believe me
I haven't seen any of the films yet, worth doing?
wtf how
feature film in north america is shot in 29 FPS. TV and Film standards are both 29 here.
I meant The Hobbit will be shot in 48 fps.
God fucking damn it. Return is going to be shown while I'm at a leadership conference for web development and programming in Orlando. I won't have a car and I'll be busy the entire time I'm there with the exception of maybe 4 hours to myself. At least I'll see Fellowship and Two Towers.
This better be in the fucking UK too. AMC are re-releasing Top Gun for that anniversary too but it's only in the US :'(
This better be in the fucking UK too. AMC are re-releasing Top Gun for that anniversary too but it's only in the US :'(
there re-releasing top gun?!
I never heard of this, and I work at an AMC. Must be because I'm a damn Canadian :(
FUUUUUU Goddammit, why does Canada always get the butt end of the stick? :frown:
I'm going to set a day free for a marathon.
Fuck yeah theres about 12 or 13 Amc theaters near me so I'll definitely be going to all 683 minutes of this epicness.
Awesome! Wait...I think the AMC near me closed :ohdear:
Thousands of people catch up on lost sleep in June.
I've never seen any of them so this'll be a good chance for me to.
Coincidently, our school is assigning the Fellowship of the Rings as summer reading.
Coincidently, our school is assigning the Fellowship of the Rings as summer reading.
I feel quite disappointed at that. The trilogy could be easily read in a week and you get just the first part as summer reading? :colbert:
Saaaaweeeet.
I remember seeing all of the movies in the theaters, the experience just isn't the same on dvd/bluray
Bump for Tuesday. Anyone else going?
