Another emotional appeal with very little substance.
What's so wrong about him posting a gif, besides any argument that it's not becoming of his position?
Yes. I do not see why it's very important, and no one has told me yet. You try.
You could try reading the thread, several people have made good arguments.

I want to cut through the echo chamber to find any resemblance of a coherent response, and preferably have the points I brought up addressed.
Why is this such a hard thing for you to discuss? Is it possibly because you're taking this on a deeply emotional level, and you're not thinking rationally? Trump could do anything and you'll have a similar outrage.

How about you prove it's not a big deal. Trump clearly thought it was if he deleted it.
It was a joke which you apparently took seriously, much like how you're taking Trump's sweet seriously. There's correlation. Next time try to go after my argument instead of the emotional response.
There was nothing to go after, you didn't make an argument, you just said 'So h*ckin what?'.
It's not awfully surprising that someone with steam tags like this (cut short to stop doxxing) is supporting the president doing abhorrent stuff, though! Trump might not have those racist views pinned directly to him, but you sure as hell do.

Because, as has been stated in this thread, which you chose not to read mind you, he is the president. He represents the highest office in the land, his behaviour impacts thousands if not millions of people who aspire to the same office. That behaviour is normalized by his actions, which is wrong because that behaviour is not something we should reward nor want.

CNN doing its job? HAhahahah.
Why is this such a hard thing for you to discuss?
If I do your homework for you, you won't learn the lesson like a big boy.
How about you prove it's not a big deal. Trump clearly thought it was if he deleted it.
But it's still up?

It's important because he's the president and he represents the entire United States and is completely responsible for all of her citizens in a local and global context, and acting like a fucking fool while simultaneously assaulting free media is damaging to all ends.
How about you prove it's not a big deal. Trump clearly thought it was if he deleted it.
Because it's literally just a twitter post, and it wasn't hateful. It was a dumb joke but it wasn't made maliciously. It's not some deep issue though like everyone's making it out to be.
There was nothing to go after, you didn't make an argument, you just said 'So h*ckin what?'.
I did make an argument. I'm asking people to help me understand why it's a big issue. It seems more like a harmless, dumb joke.

"Abhorrent" stuff, like posting a gif? Yeah, fuck me. And so what if I have certain views, that's neither here nor there? Since you're so good at looking stuff up, google "ad hominem".

Do you support Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy by any chance? And can you further elaborate on how he assaulted the free media?
But it's still up?
I don't see it on his feed

I am not going to argue with you here over rhetoric. I know what Ad Hominem is, and wielded effectively it can damage your character enough to make sure nobody else gets caught in the trap of 'arguing' with you by cutting to the chase and knowing what kind of person you are right away.
You are not trying to debate here, you're trying to start a shit storm. Don't pretend otherwise.
If you genuinely want a proper response, look directly above this post.

It's on the top of @POTUS still

Oh. Ok.

I think Trump is regarded as a monster when he's just an uncouth idiot. You see, I'm not defending Trump, but more so trying to scrutinize why people are getting so upset at it. I think what he posted was dumb, but at the end of the day, just a gif. I don't think he should've posted it. I think people are taking what he did way too seriously, so I want to find out why.
Now that we have everything out of the way, your response?
Do you support Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy by any chance? And can you further elaborate on how he assaulted the free media?
My face.
Trump, as president of the United States, indirectly endorsed a racist, cried about a major news organization, and employed imagery that, in conjunction with his past comments, actions, and his voting bases' past interpretations of such statements, encourage violence from the media, with that one post. You might think it is pedantic but IT IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES ACTING IN HIS OFFICIAL CAPACITY.
You haven't presented any argument this isn't an issue aside from 'its trump', as though his existence self evidently justifies his actions.
Reading the responses to this tweet makes me want to fucking kill myself. There is no hope for america.
What if you do this and find out that God is a trump supporter

You're grasping at straws. This isn't about his past. This is about the gif posted on twitter.
They are taking it 'way too seriously' because he acted in capacity as the IS president, which is probably why his staff deleted the tweet.

In the grand scheme of things, it's minor and a harmless blunder.

In the grand scheme of things you are ignoring that he called the press the enemy of the American people
In the grand scheme of things, it's minor and a harmless blunder.
He is the president of the United States. The pinnacle of world stability for decades. Arguably the most powerful diplomatic force the world has ever seen. Our diplomatic splendor is only matched by our nearly immeasurable firepower.
Our diplomacy is supported by our image and our image alone. If you think being called out as racist was embarrassing, imagine how the U.S. is being seen by the rest of the world when an unstable feeble old jackass is behind the controls.
Wait, you don't need to imagine it, actually.
You're grasping at straws. This isn't about his past. This is about the gif posted on twitter.
Oh! I am sorry, two mistakes I made. I write my post incorrectly, so here it is corrected.
Trump, as president of the United States, indirectly endorsed a racist, cried about a major news organization, and employed imagery that, in conjunction with his past comments, actions, and his voting bases' past interpretations of such statements, encourage violence from the media, with that one post.
But my objection still stands. Are you reading what you quote? Stop selective comprehension, and argue your point.
it's pretty funny watching someone struggle to grasp at any straws they can to use for justification as to why the president of the united states is allowed to be a clown
the irony of what i'm sure this poster thought during the Obama years must be staggering.
In the grand scheme of things, it's minor and a harmless blunder.
Is it really that minor and harmless if it's one of a hundred other 'blunders' just like it?
That's really an excuse that only works if it's a once in a blue moon kind of thing. If a waiter drops an order once, it's a minor and harmless blunder. If the waiter consistently drops orders, it starts to be less of a minor blunder and more of an indicator for a much more serious problem
Either Trump is an idiot or he's malicious. For some reason we're supposed to not care if he's just an idiot?
