I choose option 3. Both.
In the grand scheme of things, it's minor and a harmless blunder.
He's done so many "minor" things that it just turned into one major problem, his behavior has been detrimental to foreign relations, the US Presidential role has lost so much influence in a short amount of time.
In the grand scheme of things, it's minor and a harmless blunder.
So a tweet inciting violence from the goddamn PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is perfectly fine? This man has been nothing but a national embarrassment since day 1 of his term.
If you argue it's not a big deal that Trump makes a thousand mistakes, why don't you go into your less important job and behave the same way, SURELY if you have any conviction in your belief that these issues are inconsequential then you should get away with it at your job.
Please report back when you find out how that goes

His behavior shows that he is both incredibly incompetent in various aspects of policy as well as an outright terrible person to be around.
My heart bleeds for CNN reporters who can't take a joke.
Why does this post come off as being ignorant or supportive of the president acting like this.
Maybe it's because I actually reported that post haha
You reported a meme for?
this is pathetic
You reported a meme for?
Violence obviously
this is pathetic
Im pretty sure in the future school teachers will no longer say things like "anybody could be president!"
In the grand scheme of things, it's minor and a harmless blunder.
In the grand scheme of things, it's another little trashbag on a hilariously large pile.
Look, I get it- it's just a dumb meme not a crime against humanity. Trump is guilty of much worse and it's easy to see why someone who likes Trump (or at least wants to appear superior to people who actively dislike Trump) would argue that his detractors are simply looking for excuses to get mad.
But this isn't a one time goof- this isn't out of character, this is just who Trump is.
A childish, boorish oaf with zero tact and absolutely no consideration of the consequences of his actions and blunders.
Trump is the polar opposite of the kind of person who should be trusted with any kind of responsibility, and he rams this point home on an almost daily basis with a constant stream of dumb little goofs like this.
There is also the issue of what incidents like this do for America's image internationally.
The president of your country posts dumb memes and pissy little rants on twitter like an edgy teenage girl, either in combination with his attempts to disparage media he doesn't like- or just to loudly whinge about comedians who make fun of him because he's just that much of a fragile little baby.
How does that look to the rest of the world? For as long as Trump is president you are going to be seen as an (admittedly rather worrisome) joke of a nation.
Violence obviously
Oh right that poor nonhuman company logo.
Like I said before there are many, MANY things wrong with trump but this is just a silly meme and its even more sad how CNN is trying to streach this as some sort of scary threat like he is going to sent a death squad after them.
Really. Rally the tens of millions people that are going to lose health coverage not spend all day pretending that this tweet was anymore then just some dumb tweet that are much less offensive then alot of anti-trump memes i see online. Really making the left look like a bunch of triggered pussies instead of dealing with the actual issues that actually effects real people.

You sound really bothered over perceived persecution. Trump has done nothing wrong except rub people the wrong way. Just because you don't agree with him doesn't mean he's morally or inherently wrong. Jesus, you know people have their own opinions on life, right?

"Perceived persecution"
This is a thread about Trump literally posting a video of him body slamming a news outlet.

Oh, I can't imagine how awful you must feel. Does it actually offend you that much>
Please address why acting as representative of the United States acting in such capacity is "[rubbing] people the wrong way" instead of being a disgrace to the position and setting a horrible precedent for both the position and the White House's stance on the media.
And do it by reading and responding to actual arguments put forward instead of putting words and emotions in other's mouths. You haven't responded to any of our arguments, have selectively read people's points in order to argue, and dismissively address others while accusing them of digressing because their feelings are hurt or otherwise.

Oh, we all heard him brag about that one.

That's actually really rich. Read the responses given to me. I'm the only one giving an argument besides "wahhh mistew pwesident is mean!!!" Grow up.

I don't see how posting a gif or saying he doesn't like a television show is him being a disgrace or an awful president. He's kept most of his promises and he isn't even a year into his presidency. My argument is that he isn't as bad as people say he is, and people jump down his throat for minor things, like posting a gif.
He's kept most of his promises and he isn't even a year into his presidency.
Implying that's a good thing lol
My argument is that he isn't as bad as people say he is, and people jump down his throat for minor things, like posting a gif.
Oh he's so much worse than a stupid gif tweet. But this is still childishly stupid.
He's kept most of his promises and he isn't even a year into his presidency.
Would you happen to have one(1) example
Literally none of our arguments are that so it's nice to see the blatant disregard you have for what we say
Every post you have made in this thread:
I'm not sure what's funnier, the president posting this or all the outrage over it? Must be a slow day for you guys.
So h*ckin what? That has nothing to do with Trump's views.
Dismissal with no justification. Trump's retweet of that image by that person indirectly endorses that person. Beacause the POTUS twitter retweeted it, Trump endorsed in the capacity of the presidency. It may have nothing to do with Trump's views, but it does have to do with the president's position. Ignoring the fact that the presidents previous comments and action correlate with the racist views of the author of the image.
It was a joke which you apparently took seriously, much like how you're taking Trump's sweet seriously. There's correlation. Next time try to go after my argument instead of the emotional response.
Because you never made an argument, Judas responded in kind. Trump's post may have been a joke, but because of the capacity he published it, it is taken seriously as a statement from the office of the president. If you think Twitter doesn't have the capacity to be such a thing, look at other world leaders and even smaller offices in the US, who formally make and retract statements using twitter, statements which are respected in capacity of the office making it. This holds for how the POTUS account was created and treated by the previous presidency and the rest of the world.
Another emotional appeal with very little substance.
What's so wrong about him posting a gif, besides any argument that it's not becoming of his position?
Yes. I do not see why it's very important, and no one has told me yet. You try.
I'd also like to mention 2 pages of thread exist of people explaining such things to other users.
Never mind, I don't have any more to add to the rest of your posts. You just ignore responses, and don't justify anything you say to reduce the importance of Trump's behaviour except by putting words in other people's mouths and implying the only reason we disagree is because we are personally hurt by Trump. And some of your statements are just nonsensical...
Do you support Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy by any chance?
Either argue your position, or resign yourself to having none.
the only promises he cant seem to keep are the ones that either protect minorities, women, women minorities, and anything that shows a shred of decency towards the disadvantaged
Give me examples. Women aren't minorities or disadvantaged anymore btw.
Literally none of our arguments are that so it's nice to see the blatant disregard you have for what we say
It's not my fault if you refuse to read or refute what I'm saying.
Either talk like a normal person and support your position, or resign yourself to having none.
Both JFK and Bill Clinton fucked women like it was going out of style. Isn't that unbecoming of a president? Where do you draw the line with Trump?
Both JFK and Bill Clinton fucked women like it was going out of style. Isn't that unbecoming of a president? Where do you draw the line with Trump?
I'm pretty sure those women consented tho. I don't recall JFK and Bill Clinton bragging about grabbing women by the pussy
I'm pretty sure those women consented tho
So, let's turn that around with an argument that was presented to me:
it's pretty funny watching someone struggle to grasp at any straws they can to use for justification as to why the president of the united states is allowed to be a cheat on his wife
You could argue they were both bad people or had unsavory qualities, but they were arguably good presidents. Why can't it be different with Trump?
Give me examples. Women aren't minorities or disadvantaged anymore btw.
Lol get out of my thread
I mean if the "it's not big deaaaal guysssssssss" being put on repeat without anything other than a unsubstantial handwave at any objections wasn't enough.
Completely disconnected with reality.
No one's discussing my points. They keep arguing around it. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean it's wrong. My argument is that Trump's twitter post has no lasting implications and isn't really even that unbecoming of a president. There's no example to compare it to, as he's clearly the most modern president yet.
Lol get out of my thread
Get a grip. If you can't handle other people's opinions this thread isn't for you. Systematic racism and sexism doesn't exist anymore, and women are a majority.

:speechless:
Both JFK and Bill Clinton fucked women like it was going out of style. Isn't that unbecoming of a president? Where do you draw the line with Trump?
(we tried to impeach Clinton over that btw)
So, let's turn that around with an argument that was presented to me:

Well he hasn't shown to be a good president for one
Also them cheating seems like peanuts compared to the seemingly endless scandals and trash that Trump has said and even bragged about
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/13/us/politics/planned-parenthood-trump.html
going against planned parenthood is going against women, even if you are against abortions, planned parenthood still primarily provides education about sex, free options for condoms or other contraceptives for poor people who cannot afford them, doctors/referrals for women on a wide variety of std/sti treatments as well as diseases related to reproductive health
also, i didnt say women were minorities, friend
https://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/6/30/1676785/-After-ignoring-Pride-Month-Trump-appoints-anti-trans-activist-to-Gender-Equality-position
trump appointing anti trans activist to a high position of power, i hope i dont need to go any further on how this fucks with trans people and will in the future, if i do need to elaborate, heres how hes already doing it now
http://fortune.com/2017/02/22/trump-lgbt-transgender-bathroom-guidelines/
so how about the filthy gays, im sure all the anti-lgbt folks he is putting into position of power totally have great things in mind for us, its not like texas just got rid of the benefits of gay marriage, or that republicans are already working on revoking gay marriage into either being illegal again, or into being a useless title
I'll give you that. That's pretty fucked up.
So focus on all that instead of a twitter gif.
