I don't get Facepunch's obsession of making horrible puns in a thread about some sad news to gather ratings. What's the point?
they're reading the news on a forum, so they're detached from the emotions. vicariousness, teenager mentality, etc etc.
And the fact if someone is truly upset they will deal with it by squashing it in a very remote part of their brain and trying to act happy.
Not to mention if you sit on the internet a fair bit you become desensitized to violence and death.

It was pretty funny, just a really dickish insensitive thing to say. It can be both.
I live in doha, the smoke was massive, I could see it all the way from school.

This should be a criminal offense.
Not funny.
Actually I found it to be one of those few rare puns that made me laugh out loud.
Most majority of "puns" on FP don't succeed in that.

It's still horrible though that a bunch of children felt a fiery death.

It is. The managers of the mall have been arrested and they're investigating on the suspect of arson or negligence. Either way, someone's going to pay for this.
