A futuristic cod with all cool gadgets and stuff would be something nice.
That wasn't so funny.
Now that's funny.
psst
do you hear that
that's the sound of me caring
To be honest, I just want to find out what happens to Soap and Captain Price.
Cliffhangers are always enticing, no matter how bad a plot is
We're sure they'll be wrapping up Modern Warfare 3 any day now.
Please no.
To be fair, Modern Warfare 2 was complete and utter garbage. So any new studio that they've built would surely be better than the old one.
Yeah it's so bad I'm sure no one has ever had fun in it
What's that? Millions of people bought it and hundreds of thousands still play it even after Black Ops came out?
I don't get what the big deal is. They have a notable game studio understaffed, so they filled it out with new employees. It's standard business.
I'm also tired with all the stupid bullshit about Kotick in every thread related to gaming. Everyone always has to have a person to collectively hate, just like Jack Thompson, a shitty lawyer who had no real influence because the courts didn't take him seriously, but he was always heralded as some "scourge" to video games. Just stop it. Kotick is no different from any other CEO of a large publisher. They're all producing shovelware, because it sells.
Quick, everyone! Rate him dumb and disagrees for going against the bandwagon! :downs:
No, seriously though, I'm getting sick of all this bullshit too. First it was EA, now it's Activision. :/
Cliffhangers are always enticing, no matter how bad a plot is
They aren't if you don't give two shits about the characters involved.
Guys have you ever built something with legos, then rebuilt it, then it turns out like shit?
This is one of those lego creations
Couldn't agree more.
Even worse when the next CoD title might be a shitty FPS P2P game, which is just ridiculous.
I think it'd be good if they made other games, they seem to dominate the modern warfare franchise so now they should actually compete with other games to see if they can come up with something more original rather than the almost copy cat style of game making they have at the moment.
I like their games but I want something new. So I'm hoping that their rebuilding of infinity ward results in that something new.
For people saying Activision is just being normal:
Other companies don't withhold royalties from the developers who MADE THEM all the money.
Other companies don't overpressurise the dev team to release a half-finished product (Okay, maybe EA, but they don't do that any more)
Other companies don't hire fucking security to keep the dev team working
Other companies don't whore every single game they publish out (Remember Call of Duty, Tony Hawk's and Guitar Hero BEFORE Activision bought those franchises?)
Other companies don't raise the price of their game to £60 for no discernible reason.
Other companies don't release £15 dlc that is woefully short for the amount of money you pay.
Other companies don't make outrageous statements, such as claiming that Bungie is the "last good independent developer", or saying that they would introduce a subscription fee to their game, if they could "tommorow"
Activision may be making lots of money, but they are the epitome of everything gamers hate from a publisher; they may be making lots of money, but they're soulless, greedy, and exploitative.
Yes and it is our point (The people saying Activision is just being normal) that it isn't their fault, it is the consumer's fault for continuously buying into their cult phenomenon bullshit.
Get some standards, morals, what-have-you and stick with them, mister consumer.

That may be true, but the bastards sure are smart as we can clearly see...
Which sucks alot. They could be better and earn more money if they weren't so corrupt and half assed.
Also, I don't understand how would anyone pay a subscription for such a game. For WoW? Sure, why not... But a FPS that has basically been redone hundreds of times FOR FREE?!
Kotic will kill Activsion eventually just like how EA killed its self acting the same way. When start treating your fanbase like trash it comes back to bite you.
Lets not forget Ramirez, Foley and Dunn
They're not the best characters in the world for Military purposes, they're more like police officers.
Carl on Duty: Black Cops.
Ramirez! Taze the suspect!
It's quite ironic that Activision was founded by developers who thought they were unappreciated and underpaid.
1/2 of a game, then they will release it.
As DLC I presume?
Well grab a bucket, because Modern Warfare 3 is in development right now.
Dammit. Why Modern Warfare 3? Why can't we have the next game take place later in the 1900s?
Respawn Entertainment.
Dammit. Why Modern Warfare 3? Why can't we have the next game take place later in the 1900s?
You do have Sledgehammer working on another game, that could be set in the 90s.

What people have against Kotick is that he's made some very arrogant and, what's more, completely ridiculous statements. I mean, really, read an article on some of the shit he's spewed and tell me you didn't feel the least bit like hulking out.
I miss when CoD was about the average grunt on the ground, not this special forces bullshit.
Dammit. Why Modern Warfare 3? Why can't we have the next game take place later in the 1900s?
Or the future.
I miss when CoD was about the average grunt on the ground, not this special forces bullshit.
that wouldn't be as much fun
The company has done this by focusing on qulaity staff that will do the job on time and not grind to a halt just to strike. Sadly though the CEO of Activison has gained a negative public image due to his harsh employment tatics.
Call of duty: Modern Vietnam Warfare 3
:ohdear:
honestly I'd like to see a 2142-ish spin on CoD.
at least that would be interesting, not the same "REBELS WITH AK'S AND ARMY DUDES WITH M16'S" crap that has consumed the FPS genera for the last three years.
hell even a near future game like Homefront looks more appealing.

Uh, I don't know if you realize this but a lot of Infinity Ward's workers went completely unpaid because Kotick decided he needed another solid gold Jacuzzi.
Infinity Ward 2: Electric Boogaloo is probably gonna be nothing but professional ass-kissers.
I miss when CoD was about the average grunt on the ground, not this special forces bullshit.
I can kinda understand why they drifted away from that. Operation Flashpoint and ArmA have that niche down to an art form, and they're better at it than CoD by a fair shot.
I really don't see the controversy behind all this. Call of duty sucked after big red one, then world at war came around and they embellished on an old concept by putting you on the Russian front, and being the first game to really put you as the marine ground forces in the pacific theater. In this day and age, graphics are nothing really to be proud of, so all we have left is story and gameplay, which world at war delivered with the gritty filthy reality of world war 2
I want a game where one mission takes a week to do.
hell even a near future game like Homefront looks more appealing.
What's wrong with Homefront? Everything I've seen of it, it looks like it'll turn out to be a damn fine game.
They might as well call it a different name, without the same people the studio isn't the same. But then again, all Activision need is the name Infinity Ward splashed on their products and you get money printers. It makes sense really now I have typed it out.
