If they gave in to demands the 360 and PS3 versions would be the ones coming out 3-6 months late.
Which is stupid as well.
ok that makes it less shit how exactly?
well gee i dunno gta iv was crap performancewise, but it came with that sweet editor
Red Dead Redemption. :(
I don't really consider that evidence to them not porting it to PC. RDR was done by a different division of Rockstar that hasn't ported any of their games to PC since Midnight Club 2. Because of that, it would have been more surprising to me if it WAS released for PC.
GTA IV port was terrible and GTA V is supposed to be like 4 or 5 times bigger than GTA IV so I can imagine it's going to take A LOT of manpower to make a good port. Manpower they don't have if they focus on consoles and pc.
Anyone heard anything if GTAV will use GFWL? Please god, no.
I think Rockstar has a system for porting GTA to PC. I think I remember where, due to the smaller market on the PC, Rockstar doesn't make a PC version until they broke way beyond even with the console release. At that point, if the money poured into a PC port is enough where they can still gain a profit based on a small amount of sales, they'll port it. However, from what I heard, the number of pre-orders for GTA V has already exceeded the amount of copies GTA IV sold in the past 4 years. Don't quote me on that though. Regardless I have signed the petition.
It's stupid to create a petition trying to convince a private organization to sway their intentions. This isn't a community decision and R* is going to ignore it anyways.
I had both, it was still shit. The only thing that saved GTAIV was the modding community.
I have a fairly shit computer and GTA IV was and is working almost flawlessly.
First big mod for GTA V would be controllable blimps
The First mod would be GTASA:V, GTAVC:V and GTAIV:V. Fact. Windows 8 exclusive
Just Cause 2 isn't really as detailed is it?
They're gonna do it anyway, they'd lose far too much money if they didn't, but now they've got a petition confirming how many people will buy it, it's just confirmation that they don't actually have to spend that much time or effort making a good PC version, so they'll just release a lazy, shoddy port (a la Dark Souls) and get as much money as they would if they spent time on making a decent version for the PC. [editline]28th November 2012[/editline]
heaven forbid we want to stop this idiotic practice and get the game at the same time as consoles
quick let's get them to rush it rather than spend time and effort making an actually decent version and instead just make them release a buggy, half-hearted, rushed version so we get it at the same time as the consoles yay what a great idea
What if they are secretly working hard to make a super port that is vastly superior to console versions?
Just Cause 2 is like 20 times bigger and it seems to run just fine.
apples and oranges
I would love a PC release; even if it pushed back the release date. I am so tired of PCs getting the terrible ports. LA Noire was surprisingly good, but with their GTA IV port I am a little anxious. I'd rather they spend a bit of their development time focused specifically on PC Ports so that we get something that runs just as good, if not better than the console version.
Just Cause 2 isn't really as detailed is it?
Actually all the jungle is suprisingly detailed. Probably mostly copy-pasta though.
It's at about 94k signatures now
Signed to help stop the whining.
It's stupid to create a petition trying to convince a private organization to sway their intentions. That there is still money to be made from PC geams
Actually all the jungle is suprisingly detailed. Probably mostly copy-pasta though.
The leaves are 2d sprites that follow you, it's weird looking at them while flying above and they are rotating everywhere. You also have to take into account that GTA is a city while most of JC2 is in sparsely populated areas, in a city in JC2 there is some pretty noticeable fps lag on consoles.
100k is a small sales figure and likely wouldn't cover the costs of remaking for PC. Given the scope and detail of V, it must be pretty high up there in the world of big budget productions. It only makes sense that they aim to get a big return before they start spending millions in man hours to completely rebuild the world for PC. Instead of acting so entitled to an on-time PC port, send them money, or a studio, because it's not going to be good intentions that they're lacking.

And since when did every person ever partake in a petition? The fact that 100K people write that they'd like it, in a very short space of time, shows that a lot of people are interested. And don't draw the entitlement bullshit card, it's retarded.
No nonononononoNONONO. No. I want a decent port.
lol Vancouver merged with Toronto, and Vancouver, of course, did the amazing Max Payne 3 port. So perhaps a Toronto outsource would be good!
Just because its a pattern doesn't make it a good pattern.
Come on guys, they aren't delaying it in order to intentionally piss off the PC audience. :v: Not only do they have to optimize it, they also have to add exclusive features for it. Most folks liked the social club feature since you could create films with ease.
Over 95k supporters now, I signed it just for the hell of it.
That's a stupid idea though. If rockstar were to give in to the demands, then they'd probably have to rush the PC version and then you risk ending up with a bad port.
Yes, because GTA IV was a port of the highest quality.
I can finally run GTA IV maxed out! I only paid $1600 for my new PC...
I can also run IV maxed out with Icenhancer, and I only paid £500 for my PC!
GTA IV port was random has hell Ran like shit on many great computers and ran pretty well on many shit computers
97k Supports. Damn.
Really don't see the point. Rockstar is going to release the game on PC regardless. I'm so sure of that that I'm willing to bet 100 bucks.
I swear to go milk, if it somehow isn't released on pc, i'm not lending you any money
