It had a squad of badass and fairly memorable characters
my fav Star Wars characters ever
Yeah but 1313 looks like a piece of shit, its literally Gears of Star-wars. If I were them I'd cancel it.
If lucas arts really does go down, the only way we would get Battlefront 3 and Republic Commando 2 is if we made it ourselves. Actually, that isnt a bad idea..
Yeah but 1313 looks like a piece of shit, its literally Gears of Star-wars. Guess not.
So we're more likely to get Farmville : Tattooine than Battlefront 3. Well that's fucked up.
Yeah but then you got something called Copyright
It shouldnt be a problem if its freeware, unless disney decides to be a dick and claim that even when its freeware its "illegal" for whatever reason. If anything we could probably still make games/mods similar to those games if that does happen.
So we're more likely to get Farmville : Tattooine than Battlefront 3. Well that's fucked up.
Well we already got this abomination :
Um yeah I said that in my post. But my point is Disney would make an amazingly bigger amount of money if instead of only focusing on what the adults buy for their kids they actually started making products adults would buy for themselves, since that would potentially double the number of products bought by parents alone and create a big consumer base for any adult that does not have kids.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchstone_Pictures
Okay, I'm genuinely confused. What made Battlefront and Republic Commando so great?
I have 183.9 hours logged on the PC version of battlefront II according to steam, probably my favorite game on my account. It is simple enough that you can just mess around and have fun but at the same time is a good multiplayer game and has enough options to stop you from getting bored if you are playing single player. The original battlefront and battlefront II was what I played most of the time when my friends came over as a kid.
Well we already got this abomination : [img_thumb]http://www.presse-citron.net/wordpress_prod/wp-content/uploads/AngryBirds_StarWars-399x300.jpg[/img_thumb]
[IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/QHkMA.jpg[/IMG_thumb] I'm fucking sick of tie-ins. I pessimistically don't see 1313 getting past Disney anytime soon, which to me is a shame because they seem to forget that there are fans out there who actually saw the first films when they were released back in the late 70s, early 80s that want Star Wars without being treated like a child.
Okay, I'm genuinely confused. What made Battlefront and Republic Commando so great?
It did not focus on jedi. It largely ignored them even. As a general rule anything within the EU that starts focusing on jedi ends up awefull. As to REpublic commando - good characters, good gameplay, good visuals.
Why did you leave emphasis out the part where they said they would license out to game devs for consoles? “We’ll look opportunistically at console, most likely in licensing rather than publishing,”
If Disney is licensing for the major platforms, then they won't need LucasArts. Unless LucasArts can switch over to social and mobile gaming, a short future they will have.
Okay, I'm genuinely confused. What made Battlefront and Republic Commando so great?
Have you played either of them? Battlefront had simple gameplay on an absolutely massive scale, battles could take hours, and there was always Galactic Conquest mode if you had a weekend to burn. If you played Republic Commando all the way through you wouldn't have to ask that. [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline] Welp, I know what I'm going to be doing with the rest of my day
So now Starwars will be pimped out by Disney until it ends up run down int he streets.
Well we already got this abomination :
To be fair, this was made before the buyout. Disney shouldn't make 1313 kiddy, it's perfect the way it is. But if they do an Epic Mickey to 1313, I'll be pissed.
Making 1313 appropriate for children is like making making a strip club have a child discount.

I mean it was made on the wii it couldn't ever look that intricate, I think they did very well with what they had. Darker than kingdom hearts surely.
All I really care about is what Disney will do with Monkey Island. Sell that IP, yo.
goodbye twi'lek hookers I barely knew thee

I don't see the problem with Disney licensing out Star Wars to developers. LucasArts does really suck these days.
I don't see the problem with Disney licensing out Star Wars to developers. Wasn't kotor 2 made in like a month or crazy shit and then TFU2 was pressed for a holiday release and got most of its story axed which led to the entire series being cancelled.
I really enjoyed The Force Unleased. The story was kind of stupid at parts, but the gameplay was amazing. The Force Unleashed 2 on the other hand seemed very rushed.
So games that are Third person and have cover are Gears of War clones? I thought it was the setting, characters, story, weapons etc that was important. Then again a game like this is more about the environment and universe rather than the gameplay, though that's no excuse to make it dull :v:
CEO Bob Iger said that the company’s plans for Star Wars gaming were likely to “focus more on social and mobile than we are on console.”
let em rot

Oh my god Rosh. What even kind of name was that? Little fuck.
Why don't we have both?
Couldn't resist.
