wait, is mine actually better? i don't know :S
That's what i did! :v:
that's pretty cool looking for a minimalistic wallpaper or somethin'
I always used things like ZScreen for screenshots myself
Get ShareX.
It's ZScreen, but better.
The bold bit, how accurate is this?
very inaccurate.
The userID is basically an.internal identifier blizzard uses for accounts now.
The ip is only points to the server, not the
The only possible way a third party could use the userID to access an account is if a few conditions were made.
1. the account was made before ~2010
2. that account was never combined into a battle.net account (very rare)
Even if both of those are true, the third party would still need the password to that account in order to access it.

I have it, and found it lacking some features from ZScreen that I use too often; perhaps I didn't see them but I have given a few good run downs on ShareX and seemingly found it without. Don't like the interface for it either. They both work fine for me and do what they need to (minus the above mentioned flaw), I just have a personal preference for ZScreen as a whole.
we have all been publicly sharing our account and realm information for hackers to decode and exploit
Yes. That information that you have now explained how to obtain. The information that nobody was even aware of until you decided to bring it to everyone's attention.
Thanks.
Holy shit. I knew there was something weird about WoW screenshots. I always noticed that gritty jpeg artifact looking thing and I always figured that's what it was. /mindblown

I will do my own OS using winzip to see how i can link my Steam account to my overclocked USB port with Windows OS X, the best video RAM ever.
Now we can see when touch-a-child the epic level priest deliberately wipes his guild for laughs.
And yet, I didn't get banned when I leaked a shit load of screenshots when I was in the friends and family alpha.
Steganography really isn't anything new. But still interesting that this has been in WoW so long and no one knew it.

Yeah, but I helped run WotLKWiki and we had several reports of people getting banned for sharing screenshots with no personally identifiable information. So they did actually use this system.
Whether or not it was planned to stay or not after the alpha is what I am not sure of.
Why? So people can bypass the subscription fee?
Because that way, servers can stay alive when the servers go down. Also, usually rlprivate servers add new, interesting content.
Also, why should there be a subscription fee if you're not using their servers?
The more amazing thing is that this was kept a secret for so long
Woah, that must be what linux looks like.
That's fucking brilliant
I don't know why everyone is saying "genius" etc, this is a very old technique that has been used for decades in all forms of media to identify who produced a print/screenshot/etc. And I think it's the most retarded thing to put it in a screenshot feature, since you'd want to output best possible quality and not some artificial artifacts to track them.
