The Sun can suck my dick
Sounds hot
i bet the sun is sad, man. he gives life with its warmth but it can only warm half of our planet and so every time the earth turns, a thing he helped give life to dies. it's tragic
it's obvious the sun is going to burn out like a used lightbulb, and we're going to have to send a team of astronauts up with a fresh one edit: artist's interpetation
And then M. Night Shyamalan gets on TV and announces the ultimate of twists: [sp]The sun IS a gigantic lightbulb and life goes in a endless cycle of scale, just like there are bacteria on our world, we're the bacteria to another.[/sp]
Isn't that from the start when he mentions that they used "all of Earth's remaining fissile material," to build the thing.
Is there an extended version of the movie, I saw it pretty recently and i don't remember any orbital shots of earth. Looks like someone photoshopped Icarus over Earth instead
So why the assumption that something major is happening because solar activity is low? It's not like the sun is actively plotting against us. Maybe nothing will happen at all.

Obviously we haven't been praising it enough.
The sun is currently on a twin peak solar activity cycle and we're in between the peaks. There was a sensationalist headlines thread on this several weeks ago.
This is the most supported reason so far. Says towards the end of the original article and here too: Nasa Link
Year by year those two dark rectangles are going to get bigger until the sun is going to have its own pair of sunglasses so it doesn't go blind
