Are they still on the payroll like the two guys who couldn't move in that Australian incident last year? They would be rich if they are
Are they still on the payroll like the two guys who couldn't move in that Australian incident last year? They would be rich if they are
No, that mine company already said they are bankrupt, and won't pay them anything. Not for time stuck in there, not compensation for health care after, nothing. However, I did read that other businesses in Chile have offered jobs to these guys when they get out. Plus I think they'll probably get something for selling their story to movies or tv. It makes me wonder if they will fight amongst each other over selling their story. There's one guy who is a medic, he's the one taking care of them, doing whatever the doctors on the surface say is needed. I bet whoever makes a movie of it will want to do it from his character's point of view, since he has a central role. So he stands to make more money, but I bet the other guys won't like that, since they were all equally trapped in there.
So the last guy will be in a dark room, 700m underground, all by himself for 30 minutes? Shit will be scary.
Actually, considering you need to lift the cage and lower it back down, it's more like 40-60 minutes. Still, after being trapped down there that long, I'm sure he'll gladly wait.
I saw this on the news yesterday, they said that in the likely event the pod gets stuck on the way up, the miners will have to mine the pod out while their in it.
I thought it was going to take until December? Are they really 2 months early? If so, that's pretty cool. I see what they're doing. They say it'll take a really long time so they look good when they beat their estimate by 2 months. I won't fall for this.
PSPs were sent down to them a while back :eng101: [editline]10:02AM[/editline]
am i the only person whos really curious as to what they do down there all day?
Massive GTA multiplayer fest.

It's fucking narrow, they would barely be able to scratch their ass, let alone mine rock.
I immediately thought of this. Now we know what's on the other side of the hole! Miners.
