Anyone have a source link? When I Google "Tens of Thousands protest in Sweden against ACTA" I get "Tens of thousands protest against racists in Sweden"
It'll be hard to find one as all the major newspapers in Sweden are owned by one large publishing corporation. It's in their interest to muffle any dislike for any laws that support the copyright industry.
Here's one from an online publication though: http://www.thelocal.se/38920/20120204/
Think they'll get it through their skulls ACTA and related acts are bad now? Probably not.
If only.
Should legislatures have to abide by some nomenclature when naming bills that can stop this deceptive naming?

Also, a bit more on topic, I love the Young Turks.

If there's a London protest I'll be going as long as it doesn't interfere with my lectures.
I don't get why people just stay at Sergels torg. Walk 500 meters and stand right outside Rosenbad.

On the coming saturday I will be supporting our local protest here in Innsbruck in Austria. I do not know if I should wear a Fawkes mask.
Why couldent america do this
Because 90% of the US is full of idiots.
It's going on in Slovakia too,it's around 2000 people.
And many of them actually used memes for their protest signs:

Well I was in Stockholm. It took about 45 minutes faster then I thought it would do but I had a good time. But also, I did not walk away with the group when it was finish with all the speakers.

Kind of sad to see the Netherlands doens't agree with this shit but just has to deal with it because "THE EU" said so.
Those memes are just not right for the occasion...

You can pull it off pretty well if you try.

Is it just me or is anyone else tired of seeing those masks everywhere?
They need something new and unique.

Same for you Stockholm-fags.
I live in Malmö, I was far too lazy to move my ass tough. Might go next time or something, never been much for demonstrations.

This guy was there too.
I was going to go, but then I went to see a movie.
I'm very impressed by how many protested in Sweden. Hopefully it'll help rouse the troops here in Denmark. There's a protest at 'Israels plads' in Copenhagen on the 25th, going to take the train and protest the shit out of this bill. I urge my fellow danish FP'ers to do the same!
Hopefully I can get hold of a Guy Fawkes mask before then.
[sp]I know, they're cliché as fuck, but god dammit I want one[/sp]
Fuck, I wanted to go, but I had reasons not to :<

IMO this has to be a really great photo with these protest. That vintage look really does it.

what makes internet memes different from other ones
phrases like "don't tread on me" are memes by definition

I've never heard anybody say "don't tread on me". Ever.

'people not profits' or 'x not y' is a meme as well.
[editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
Albeit a very basic one.
Good luck Scandinavian brethren.
I've never heard anybody say "don't tread on me". Ever.
That's because it was a meme during the 1760s-1780s, then came back around the time the Tea Party got quite popular.

So Norway is the only first world country in the world what has not signed ACTA?
I would move to Norway, but I will miss having butter. Still worth it.
