You're all up in arms about fast food. You don't seem to get that there are tradeoffs for fast food being fast.
The entirety of your posts in the first two pages are "holy shit Taco Bell looks like ass, has the texture of dog shit" and you rate everyone dumb for menial stuff.
'Cause ratings matter. :downs:
If ratings don't matter to you then why are you bothering to rate people

You're getting off track here. Are we done?
How about doing a little googling, bro? Next you're going to be saying LiveStrong is a bad source.
The problem is that they're only harmful in large amounts, and aren't exclusive to fast food. For someone who exercises regularly and pays close attention to eating the right nutrients it really wouldn't matter.
Also that article even states that most are safe, and only the several mentioned there have the potential to cause harm.

My central point is essentially that there's not really such thing as "unhealthy foods", just bad planning. Fast food is more easy to screw up, but it's not inherently more dangerous somehow.

But the unfortunate thing is that those several are used highly frequently, and I'm gonna go out on a limb when I assume that people that eat these kinds of foods probably eat them on a fairly regular basis. Most of the guys I know that are fit and healthy don't eat these kinds of foods, and when they do, they often pick small menu items. I'm only talking from personal experience and the small amount of research I've done on the topic. I just wish that people were told exactly what they were eating, and that real research should be done on these things.

Fair enough, I didn't mean to be a dick, I'm just very stubborn about this stuff. I just wish there were healthier "fast" options out there.

There are "healthy" fast food options, but not at the major chains, you are best off going to places like in and out( very few preservatives), a local deli for sandwiches or a panda express.
On-topic, I wish they never got rid of the big taste taco, that one was my favorite, well now I just go with 2 double decker tacos and the double decker taco meal due to the drink and chips.
It keeps your metabolism working to digest food. If you just have a giant meal you are offloading TONS of carbs/protein/etc onto your body at once which tends to crash metabolism, encouraging your body to just store nutrients instead of use them, and if you eat to fullness it'll often cause you to be tired as well. Small meals however keep you digesting, and keeps your metabolism working throughout the day, and encourages your body to use nutrients as it gets them instead of just storing them.
It's small in the end but every little bit helps. You don't have to do the "6 meals a day" thing to be fit and healthy but it can help you burn off calories more efficiently and help energy levels.
But most importantly it helps control food cravings and over-indulging, which is the main thing that can cause you to just eat too much or the wrong stuff.
no it does not omg
the energy in calories that goes to burn said calories, is directly proportional to the amount of calories you take in, which itself varies according to the nutrients. you don't "crash" your metabolism by eating larger meals. in fact, lower meal frequency has been shown to be more beneficiary than higher meal frequency.
so congratulations, you just promoted another incorrect mainstream diet fad, the ones you called bullshit in your former post. of which i did not understand the argument either. so because cave people were more physically active, you can't eat like them? what?
oh yeah, and they generally lived to well past 40, and if they did not, it sure as shit had nothing to do with their diet. the only reason the median age for paleolithic people was so low, is because of infant and child mortality.
Not even the Taco Bell thread is safe from Facepunch's tendency to shit-fling.

We'll argue over [del]almost[/del] anything
Where did I ever say that? Hell, I didn't even use the word cancer. All I ever said was that it looks like shit and is bad for you. I expressed that I don't want to ingest preservatives and chemicals, which are bad for you. It's called junk food for a reason.

Are you a nutritionist? Eating fast food, once, several times, or everyday, is bad for you, plain and simple.
From source:
According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, BHA and BHT have caused cancer in animal studies. Although the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has labeled BHA a potential human carcinogen, the Food and Drug Administration continues to allow its use.
Reading between the lines a bit, yes, it appears to me that you're implying that eating one bite of a McDonalds hamburger could greatly increase your risk for cancer and other unusual medical conditions cited in that source.

It's Facepunch's international pass-time.
Just throwing this out there - the 'protein' in Taco Bells meat mixture is textured vegetable protein, a product made from soy. It's completely safe and because it's very similar to ground meat when cooked(in texture, taste and protein content), it's often used as a meat extender.
It's no more dangerous or unhealthy than say, tofu.
Exactly. You shouldn't go into a fast food chain and order a salad.
McDonalds Side Salads are fucking amazing and great for you as long as you don't drench them in ranch.

What about people that have bills and shit? How do you manage 6 meals a day when you work?
What about people that have bills and shit? How do you manage 6 meals a day when you work?
A meal doesn't need to be a whole platter; it could just be a small snack, like a fruit or a sandwich or something.
Aussie people don't get to taste that sweet sweet taco bellness you guys get.
all we have is KFC, McD, Red Rooster, Hungry Jacks.

But the Ranch makes it taste good... without ranch enjoying a salad is almost impossible.

Only one of those things is an animal product, and it isn't flesh.
It's not supposed to have real meat in it.
