Uuugh i am sure "logistical" support means they are going to provide support just enough to not get accused of directly aiding against Iran. It's a very sneaky term to avoid being directly dragged in a fight.

Probably not jumping into this head first, what with the negotiations with Iran supposedly days away from closing, but still:
"While U.S. forces are not taking direct military action in Yemen in support of this effort, we are establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate U.S. military and intelligence support," a White House statement said.
The United States is also closely monitoring threats by the al Qaeda branch in Yemen "and will continue to take action as necessary to disrupt continuing, imminent threats to the United States and our citizens," it added.
Well then, i guess we can only sit and watch. For what is worth, lets atleast hope no third foreign power would surface in place adding up even more confusion.

You don't remember the riots after the last elections? Iran makes Russia look like a bastion of fair democracy, it's a fundamentalist autocracy maintaining power through corruption and intimidation in the face of a more liberal younger generation.

At least they actually change leaders once in a while. Even going though the motions of democracy puts them ahead of Saudi Arabia. At least they aren't as stuck in the past as the Saudis, who were basically tribes in the desert until some idiot found a bunch of oil.

except we actually have a lot of american military personel right around that area, and last time we turned a blind eye to threats there we had someone suicide bomb a destroyer...

how can people still say iran's theocracy is any better than saudi arabias though, like i pointed out, you CANNOT hold office in iran unless you're approved by the council of clerics, who cannot be elected unless they're a mid to high ranking cleric
if there are very specific criteria to hold office than its not a democracy its an authoritarian state with a thin veneer of democracy.
at least saudi arabia has public offices that one can obtain

Realpolitik, ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah but they also hang people for drug trafficking so...
There is no "lesser of two evils" when it comes to the fucking Saudis and Iranians. They're both horrendous.

Just because they're both horrible doesn't mean they're both equally as bad and that no evaluation can be made.
