Um We've been doing it constantly for a long time now for no other reason than profit. This guy even if he's misguided as fuck is trying to actually help co2 levels. Why are you monkeys acting as if he's worse than all the companies that dump their waste right in? ever hear of the gyre?
There's a difference, I think, between 'pouring all this shit into the ocean will fix everything' and 'let's dump our waste in the ocean'. The latter is just laziness and capitalism being the grim beast that it is. The former is somebody thinking they know what's best for nature and the fragile balance of the natural world. It's a concious and deliberate action that was intended to have a specific effect. The difference is that he cannot predict what would happen due to his actions; we simply don't know enough to make those predictions. And to try to make a difference like this is potentially more dangerous than incidental pollution purely because of the fact that it's highly deliberate and misinformed.
Chemtrails? It's called cloud seeding if I remember correctly and it's designed to induce rain to help prevent storms and droughts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_seeding Shit has been happening for years and there is nothing wrong with it. Yes it is toxic, but unless your town get's completely blanketed in it from low altitude (Which wouldn't happen) you're fine.
I don't see what this guys done wrong apart from not telling the Officials. Iron fertilization will bring loads of fish back, because of the huge bloom of plankton
Except for the part where the algal bloom ends and it kills everything. The Butterfly Effect is very much in play here.
The very small commercial container ships can haul about 20k short tons, which is around 18k metric tons (tonnes). In terms of ship cargo, 100 tonnes is basically nothing. Honestly I'm surprised 100 tonnes is even enough to do anything.
I'm surprised people are getting so worked up too. I mean the concentration of 100 tonnes (assuming it's metric tonnes) of iron sulphate in the volume of the pacific ocean is roughly 5.46 x 10^-16 mol/L. That's... infinitesimal. That's less than a nanomolar - hell, that's 54.6 femtomolar. It might as well be nothing. Of course that's ONCE it's fully homogeneous in the pacific ocean. While at current it's concentrated to the small region in the satellite picture, it'll boil down to those numbers sooner or later once the tides disperse it all out.
I don't see what this guys done wrong apart from not telling the Officials. According to Wikipedia you would need the volume of 16 super tankers a year of iron in a silica rich areas to cancel out our anthro CO2 production. Through there is no citation for that.
I think I get it this time. From what you guys are telling me, this iron shit will cause the plankton to get jiggy with it like there's no tomorrow, which will speed up their evolution causing them to become a super-intelligent illuminati race which will then travel back in time to not only cause the contrail chemtrail conspiracy, but also enact the events of 9/11? Is this why we have fluoridated water, are plankton the real cause?
You can't just mess with an ecosystem like this. It's not right.
well he just did!
well he just did!
Yeah, but this is like trying to stimulate the economy by printing more money without the assets to back it up.
you know im not gonna take a stance on this it's just gonna be interesting to see what it does, maybe it actually will help? who knows
