I really cannot fathom how you managed to come to that conclusion, I do care about what is going on from a technical / security point of view.
Okay. Then why do you find this funny? It was funny the first time. But now its just plain dumb and repetitive.
Okay. Then why do you find this funny? It was funny the first time. But now its just plain dumb and repetitive.
Because it is just funny to see a company which should have an extremely secure network have it constantly attacked. I would find a major a bank robbery involving someone walking in the back door equally funny.
so you're an idiot then.
Fuck Geohot, the Userbase has nothing to do with this guy but we're the people that are the victims now.
That's bullshit and makes me angry, because I haven't bought something which is hacked every minute by some stupid kids
I don't care what people think of me saying this, but this is funny as fuck to watch.
It's the rapture.
Just because Sony removed one feature almost no one fucking used doesn't mean they deserve this shit.
Just because Sony removed one feature almost no one fucking used doesn't mean they deserve this shit.
Not what this is about, if anything it is about the fact that they sued Geohot.

I don't see how you can be angry at Geohot, he is not behind the hacking. By the looks of it this is just someone / some group who is pissed off with the way they treated the entire matter.
Edit: And IMO only the first hacking (prior to PSN going down) was in response to that. I think other people took note of how easy it seems to be.

This is getting more and more retarded for every week. Sony has gotten way more than they deserve and I honestly see these hackers as a bigger bad guy now.
Fighting evil with evil.
(Please don't hack me hackers.)
because then people cant use certain services that they bought the machine to use
You mean like OtherOS?

All the hacking began because OtherOS was removed. When people started hacking it and figuring out what to do with it, this opened more doors for more dangerous things. Had the hackers not got all upset about losing some shitty feature this wouldn't have been a problem.
The sad part about this is that the vulnerability was found by a stupid program going around every page it's given, trying to SQL inject everything.
You mean like OtherOS?
You mean unimportant restricted piece of shit? OtherOS had severe restrictions, with little to no real functionality. It wasn't useful for anything serious, and people who want to use it, can. They don't have to update.
But this has nothing to do with PSN.
Still affects the company and therfore all of their services.

Oh no you can't play CoD, perhaps you should get a life then. As for the credit card details, banks have procedures in place for just this sort of event. I think you have failed at reading my posts, at no point have I said (or implied) that.

OtherOS was removed ages ago, the hacking coincided with the gagging order against Geohot.
How is it getting annoying? Its hilarious to watch a massive company get hacked over and over again. Sony really is one of the companies that I expected to have a secure network for some reason.
Asshole.
Valve did that, and then when the guy showed up they arrested him
Actually the local cops got to him first so that he wouldn't be in the FBI's jurisdiction where he would get a much harsher sentence (He lived in Germany). He only got probation for two years.
Oh no you can't play CoD, perhaps you should get a life then.
dick move by valve there IMO
wow that's really harsh for no reason
But without false stereotypes about people who play CoD the world would be a terrible place :(

It was more of a bad joke, apologies for coming across the way it appears to have. IMO this is the problem with central systems for online gaming, if it goes down for any reason everyone is fucked.
i think you're an asshole
From what I can gather I am an asshole and a douche because I find it funny that a technology company is suffering security issues.
That part of it is funny, the outcomes of the hacking (PSN being down, details being out there) are as I have now said 3 times not funny.
I find technology companies being hacked funny, I do not see how this makes me an asshole.
Of course if you are referring to my last couple of posts, then as I have said it was a terrible ill thought out joke based on the (mostly false) stereotypes of CoD players.
joke backfired like that one time i made a joke about abortion at a party and some woman announced she was pro-life
OtherOS was removed ages ago, the hacking coincided with the gagging order against Geohot.
I think he means hacking of the console.
Jsm. Seriously, almost every comment you've made in this thread is incredibly stupid.
Sony, get your shit together, hackers, stop.
I think he means hacking of the console.
Ah, I suppose that is the root cause of the entire thing.

It is my opinion on the matter, I'll admit the way I worded most of it was pretty bad and stupid.
How is it getting annoying? Its hilarious to watch a massive company get hacked over and over again. Sony really is one of the companies that I expected to have a secure network for some reason.
It's not funny, just sad. Not sad that they're losing customers, or that they're losing tons of money. It's sad that they let it happen over and over again.
Sony DESERVES this?
Many people COULD be put out of work. Its not funny that people work there to bring money home to pay the bills.
So, a company is entitled to fuck it's customers over, misuse power and wealth, and use unfair corporate tricks, because it's employing people who need to feed their families which makes it's ok?
