Nah, I'm convinced that the mentality of the old black order (the white man is keeping you down, resist, fight the power), combined with the rebellious and vulgar nature of modern hip-hop culture, is what is preventing blacks from rising in society. Not subconsciously racist teachers. Call me racist, sure. But I know firsthand that there are many incredibly intelligent blacks out there, distributed just as evenly as any other race, many of who are partaking in the rebellion and laziness of being a gangsta. People unwilling to use their brainpower are what bring down a society. Too bad that mindset is segregated. [b]Edit:[/b] Hispanics and some Asians, too. I'm Puerto Rican, I know. I don't get it, "mark down" makes it sound like they're giving them lower grades, but the articles makes it sound like they are going easy on them.

They should switch to an anonymous marking system, like what's used at my university (and I assume, most other universities).
