Admittedly the XP Windows Update wasn't very well made from what I remember of it. Pre-SP2 you had to actually visit the MS website to check for updates if I remember.

I got some .net framework updates, Silverlight updates and Microsoft Secruity Essentials Package recently, and some of them installed but about 10 of failed, and when it gives you the error code, there is no-one else that has reported the same thing, so how the hell am I meant to install them?
