Bronyfags ruin everything. As if it was hard enough to live with furries...
i dunno, it would be pretty hard living with digimon
Why the fuck do people even have an issue with bronies? Oh shit, call the police! He just used a PONY PICTURE! Guaranteed that most of you still like something that's meant for children as well*. No need to create a fuss every time. Anyways, it's freakin' rad as hell that he did this... AGAIN. He's hacked Chrome twice now? Makes me wonder if he already knew about this from the previous contest, and just waited for another chance to show it off. *keywords: most, unless your childhood suckedddd.
People like this are so damn dedicated and good at what they do... I mean being only 19 years old and receiving $60k for hacking one of the world's most popular web browsers is incredibly impressive. Most of us who are in the same age group are nowhere near as good at their most developed skill as these people are at theirs. However, a lot of the time people like this don't get steady jobs - these guys love doing what they like, and being told what to do is just not for them...
Who the fuck cares if the hacker is a brony or not? Maybe the hacker is just trolling. It doesn't matter because this hacker made Chrome safer and better. You guys are just fucking stupid.
the reason why a good majority of users on FP think bronies are unsavory is because a noticeable percentage of people who identify with the "brony" fandom act socially and emotionally immature; i've seen a fair percentage of "bronies" who are seriously rotten to the core and act like immoral 'autistic manchildren'; telling people who don't like MLP to non-ironically kill themselves or "gb2 (website)" but it's also common to use a blanket statement to identify a certain group of people, and the loudest group is heard the most and thus that one is referred to the most i will only carry a qualm with someone if they act like an asshole, not the subculture they identify with
What a stupid comment You only know about the people who like it because of what you see online and MAYBE one to three retarded kids at your school. I can guarantee that most people that like it (or anything else branded embarassing by our society) don't tell ANYONE that they do.
No kids at my school ever carry anything about mlp.
Bronyfags ruin everything. As if it was hard enough to live with furries...
Not as bad as having to live with Digimon-believing hoarders.
That's sometimes true. I know at least two bronies. One is the kind that brings it into unrelated things and posts about it on Facebook all the time, and the other I only know is a brony because he has a keychain with "BRONY" printed on it in big letters, and he's never brought it up. So, a lot of them aren't annoying or in your face about it at all, it's still just the minority that are that give them a bad name.
The only "bronies" I know about just fuck with people that hate the show because the reactions are hilarious. Like i'll hear them talking about normal stuff and once someone that they know they can fuck with walks by they seamlessly segway to "and then Fluttershy got scared by Iron Will, but he made her into a real bitch. I totally think that she's hotter that way though"
The hacker then used the bits and pieces of the browser he hacked and made cupcakes with it.
This is impressive - especially when I'm barely passing my programming exams at my uni, at an age older than him
Brony or not he just got $60,000 at 19 years old. Thats pretty damn winner in my book.
Good on him, but oh my God am I sick of hearing about My Little God Damn Pony.
Am i the only one who's learnt to just put up with it? seriously, as long as they aren't dedicating their life to it then let them enjoy it. Who are you to say what they can and can't like? As long as nobody is hurt then i couldn't give a fuck.
If your nitpicking his post for using the word queer than you've just failed terribly. Queer also means odd/weird so for the love of shit nitpick his post for calling someone a basement dweller for liking a show. That honestly seems like most queer thing to nitpick in a post with such obvious bull.
Yes, because the intelligence level of his post indicated he wasn't using queer as a sexual preference. Funny how you're calling me out for nitpicking when you are doing it three times as hard as I am.
THERE SURE IS A LOT OF ASPERGERS IN THIS THREAD. (User was banned for this post ("Shitpost" - Ninja101))
Except I'm not talking about this brony in particular. He's alright, if he wants to be known as a pink pony go ahead.
I want to be known as a gray pegasus.
Did the image REALLY have to be that?
The writeup under it says that it's the result of said hacking and verification that he pulled it off. There isn't really much else in the way of pictures to use on an article like this besides stock photos of hands on keyboards/men in skimasks climbing out of monitors. [editline]08:56[/editline] Unless the question is why the guy who adopted a pony as a handle used a picture of that pony, in which case it's fairly self explanatory. If I was personally given the ability, chance, and challenge to do that, it'd totally be my screaming Pennywise face on all monitors all day every day.
I don't even want to know what would Facepunch think if bronies find a cure for cancer.
I don't even want to know what would Facepunch think if bronies find a cure for cancer.
How can cancer find a cure to itself [sp]I'm sorry that was bad, I wouldn't care if they're bronies[/sp]
They've now paid this guy $60,000 twice in the same year. Why won't they just hire him already? They'd benefit from having a guy on the inside trying to break Chrome, and he'd get a job at Google. Everybody wins, right?
I discriminate everyone the same, all the way from using anime names to usual mainstream cartoon ones.
Please don't hate me :saddowns:
One can only imagine where this discussion would have went to if the image in the original post was removed and the hacker's name was redacted.

To be fair, there are countless worse images that he could have put up on chrome. At least his alias wasn't something like bluewaffle
I don't even want to know what would Facepunch think if bronies find a cure for cancer.
We would never know if someone who cured cancer was a brony because journalists don't include those kinds of details in unrelated news articles, unless they are trying to make a point of them being a brony. You don't see scientists being described as gay or Star Trek fans when they talk about their works in mathematics unless the journalist is pushing a certain agenda. The only time you would hear about their pony interests is from bronies desperately trying to boost the face of the fandom by showing off to outsiders.
hey kid wanna clop. clippity clop.
Ahh fuck no wonder I couldn't use Chrome here. Had that annoying thing popping up so I decided to go "fuck it I'm using Mozilla".
Um. It's not the world's best minds, it's the best software designers google can get their hands on.
Personally, I wouldn't demerit Google's software designers/engineers.
Wow, this dude got 1mil before just for hacking? I don't mean to say that's easy, but that's a lot of money. EDIT: Oh no, 1mil in prizes, nevermind then. Still, that's pretty cool.
Pocket change for google
